An excellent answer - the very same kind of post I come here to read and not the very same machine-generated content that's everywhere in the Net ;-)

It made me a bit sad that he bothered to answer in what came to me a little like a patronising response. Not expecting a "oh the good ole times" but perhaps a polite acknowledgment and a dismissal instead of the "Not sure why" part.

I remember that, in order to play S3&K in emulation, you just had to concatenate both games in a COPY S3.BIN + S&K.BIN way (if you used DOS) so I mostly knew the answer already.

But man, that answer in the Stack site was excellent. Informative, long but concise, and very fun to read.

I'm glad this is the first comment, because there's no way these terms of use would (should?) fly in the EU. I don't know about the USA, but it is plain deception to advertise a service along a product and then proclaim that you're in no way responsible of how it works or if it does at all.

I found a Half-Life CD in the street, just laying there, when it was a new game and all the rage. I guess it slipped from somebody's jewel case or the like. By some miracle, it wasn't scratched enough to be unreadable, so I went and installed it but… no key. Out of frustration I started to just type silly sequences, until arriving at one that worked: 1234567890 until filling the textbox completely.

Man, the sheer joy and happiness when the game installed and ran without issue. I had to tweak the settings a lot because I had a P75 with a 3dfx Voodoo accelerator card but nonetheless I enjoyed a lot of that game and I still have that disc. I hope the original owner was able to get hold of a copy and still use his original licence though.

I'm sorry to say this on this site but this post is unmanageably long, I can't bring myself to read it fully. Also, the entitlement and disregard for the work of others is unbearable. This is one of the most low key infuriating posts I've ever seen about something that could've been somewhat sympathetic to.

I had an S60 some 4 years ago, also equipped with a FLIR camera and although I tried to love the phone, I simply couldn't.

For starters it had a mediocre Snapdragon SoC - better than the average cheapophone, but lacking in a product that was in the premium tier regarding price. The FLIR camera was neat, but inferior to the add-on camera I was using at the time, yet still decent. The cherry on top came when the "ruggedised" phone couldn't cope with normal wear and tear and the plastic started to separate from the case, in a manner similar to the grips in an Xbox Controller Elite game pad that I also owned during that time.

At that point I just desisted from having the CAT phone as my mainly driver and mostly relegated it to the role of auxiliary tool just to have it die suddenly on me. I tried to follow CAT's convoluted RMA process (or perhaps their Bullitt licensee who actually make their phones, I can't remember), chock-full of awful chats and sending non-stop repeated information prompts in order to process a return until I realised I bought it from Amazon and just obtained a refund.

As I said, I really tried to like the product but my experience was so horrible that I gave up on "working phones" altogether.

This article in Spanish is quite similar in wording and expressions used: https://noticias.coches.com/noticias-motor/ford-pinto-seguri...

Really, I think that the Internet now is mostly bot generated.

That was in my mind for the entire length of the article, and I readily went to the comment sections expecting it to be addressed. I saved, from a previous job and just for curiosity's sake, a Pantone colour book that I was told wasn't usable any more because it was several decades old and the pigments would have faded or changed from the original tones.

I knew of them more of an artistic movement (with socialist views) which spawned the "Disco Elysium" video game.

I always loved Bombadil. A discordant note among wizards of great power and elves of slender form and perhaps a metaphor for Nature itself, but I also have enjoyed a lot this take on the character.

I always insert it (with permission from the owner, of course) in the sites that I manage, just as a little gesture. It's bit like that ASCII duck saying "meow!" on Amazon.

I'm always flabbergasted at how difficult and hostile to the user is discern between the various USB standards.

I've tested a handful of them and they're always the same: not a single one of them are advertised in a honest way. Some have even a true USB 3.0 connector soldered, which of course the chip doesn't support.

I didn't know I had you to thank for a far better support in Linux!

I think we've thought the same, although you've put it better than I would: exactly how verifiably would this be for such a large deployment like the COVID passports of one of the examples?

MC always brings a lot of nostalgia and the though that I used to be extremely productive with it. Surely it's just a mirage of my memory and it's just I don't perform so many file managing actions anymore, but I remember not even bothering with Windows Explorer until at least XP.
