The US banking system needs an enforcement model like PSD2. That one mandated an API that EVERYBODY can use.

I should be able to write an application that pulls data directly from Chase / BofA / CapitalOne via a standardized API, without having to pass through systems like Plaid.

This is essentially the largest hurdle that open-source applications have. Not that they don't have enough knowledge, but their adoption is hampered by a difference in features between applications like Mint.

Mint worked seamlessly. No need for CVS exports & imports, mapping columns etc. It just worked.

The fact that we can't get that without having to sign large contract is scandalous.

I've only used Usenet in the past as a method of getting files, and later browsed it with Google.

How do you browse it, how do you post to it, how is spam prevented?

And then there are companies that hire security people fresh out of school and then Discord ends up being blocked.

Let's build that company that serves ads and blocks bad actors. We can then offer the blocklist to other blockers.

Problems: * vetting ads costs a lot of time (= money). So you're getting less money per impression * requires a massive amount of infrastructure if you want to ensure that the ad doesn't change in between you vetting it and you serving it to your clients (= money).

Meaning the consumers of our company will get less money per ad they show to their visitors.

So they'll go to one that offers more. Simple as that.

In order to fix the bad actors we need to start making the websites serving the ads (like Reddit) and/or the networks (DoubleClick) responsible for what they offer up.

As long as that doesn't happen it'll remain a cesspool.

The problem is that the definition of the emoji says Pregnant Man Emoji.

So using it for anything other than that defeats accessibility for visually impaired people.

Also, 'we are pregnant' is weird, being pregnant is the act of developing offspring within the body.

Being from Europe. Where they have those tiny <45kph cars for which you don't need a license, thanks but no thanks. People don't get these because they want to. They get them because they cannot get a full license.

So now you're on a road with a 90kph speed limit and this guy pulls in front of you. Maxing out at 45.
