- DESCRIPTION: Instead of reinventing the wheel with Unity8/Mir, please join Wayland development and maybe join forces with Linux Mint and switch from Unity to Cinnamon or MATE, with Flatpak supports for desktop apps.
I fully migrated my personal laptop to FreeBSD (as TrueOS) a few weeks ago, after using it as my second OS at home.
And because I need Linux for work, I migrated to Devuan on my workstation, as I need to use Ansible and Docker in a stable way as part of my DevOps job.
I am selling my much newer MacBook Pro retina now, as the Thinkpad is so much more functional, the keyboard is amazing the feeling of the machine itself is fantastic.
I am thinking to buy a X260 brand new because I need a newer CPU and better battery life, but for sure I'll only buy Thinkpads or Latitudes (I have one at work, amazing machine) from now on.
I'm in Europe and even some non-tech know what a Linux Mint is. And a lot of newbies I help to install Linux on their laptops explicitly ask for it as well. Many are lost with Ubuntu/Unity interface and are much more happy with Cinnamon on Mint.
Also, a few years ago Xamarin actually ported Android (then 2.2. IIRC) to Mono/C#, as a test for Java->C# converters, and the result was faster than Android/Java.
With Telegram your data ends up in Germany.
