The site is currently down for me (503). While we're talking about boring technology, please consider hosting your blog on a static file host + CDN. It will be faster, easier to maintain, and virtually impossible to take down.
The real solution to that is to allow sites to specify the SHA of their resources. If any file from _any site_ is already in the cache with that SHA, it won't need to be loaded.
Venture capital is fundamentally a formal structure wrapped around a few people deciding where to put a big pile of money they control. They tend to be small, top heavy, organizations where the people at the top have a lot of autonomy. That isn't going to change.
If, on the other hand, this makes those firms think a little harder about how they might be making sexist decisions, I can't see it as a bad thing. There's no doubt that women are underrepresented in VC, and I can't help but suspect that that is one reason they are underrepresented in Tech.
You always have to consider that people who have bad experiences are much more likely to seek out a site like Trustpilot to vent. Obviously many people have also had great experiences using AirBnB. It will nevertheless be interesting to see how they respond to this publicity.
Correctly crimping RJ45 is one of those things that seems impossible, but once you get the hang of it works out most of the time.
- Make sure your wires are extending far enough into the plug, you should see the wire fully overlap the brass spades.
- Confirm you have the right wire layout by looking through the plug before you crimp the cable.
- As mentioned in the article, the tail part of the connector is meant to cover the tip of the cable's insulation to provide a bit of stress relief, make sure it's not too short.
