Just this morning I was trying to scrape nitter, for funsies. One hour and neither gemini nor kimi were able to write something working, despite trying selenium (or playwright), beautiful soup, and a specific library that can be used to scrape it.

I eventually read the library docs and managed to build a scraper for what I wanted in a few mins. Llms are great for a lot of things, but sometimes you stumble in something that's just outside of what they know/can do and you're sol. And of all the thinks, I didn't expect they would fail at this, to be honest the opposite

I don't know why this is downvoted, in italy agnelli owned via Gedi group various newspapers and as you can imagine it's not ideal - although since this march group Gedi changed owner

Well in italy I definitely see a lot of them although they're not assembled here anymore

The funniest version is the presidential one gifted to the president of the republic in 2008 https://www.museopiaggio.it/it/collezioni/2-piaggio/57-ape-c...

I will now go off topic a bit. I guess that Americans might not know about it, but Pavarotti enjoyed driving his scooter. There are photos of him in his villa driving his scooter that nowadays might make you think they're Ai generated but they're real and very Italian

There literally are og electric vespas, I don't think they're great value for money but I guess people like the way they look. Then again, I'd rather see more of them in the city than loud motorcycles https://www.vespa.com/it_IT/modelli/primavera/primavera-elet...

Piaggio also designed a car (well, more than one including bad prototypes), which unfortunately wasn't sold in italy due to a gentleman's agreement with fiat (fiat being much bigger basically went if you start selling cars, we'll build motorcycles). The English Wikipedia doesn't include this snippet of history, the Italian page does though https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/ACMA_Vespa_400

And it doesn't even feel weird to not include anti eu influencers...

I mean, it's still propaganda but it makes sense? A company wouldn't hire an influencer to say "their products suck"

A few months ago I got in touch with Google legal team to remove an ad that wasn't legal. They said that they don't moderate third party content. (???? Bro what?). Except for this bogus excuse, the ad was paid for by a foreign state trying to influence my country's opinion on some non profit organizations. The ad wasn't compliant with the European regulation on political ads (in my opinion). I thought of getting in touch with my communication authority but it's something that went on for days with Google and eventually you're left with no willpower left. Mind you I referenced the points of the law I thought they were breaching (well not just me, this thing went on an italian newspaper before I asked for removal), which is not the most interesting way to spend time

Anthropic just stole the internet and put it in a transformer and pat itself on the back for it - well no to be honest we have to suffer through hearing them saying that this model is really really dangerous until they got a reaction for they fear mongering

Yes, but even then you can usually go to the bank, at least in italy despite not being called chargeback you can ask a refund for scams or similar issues. More modern fintech banks give you this option directly in the app, otherwise you might need to chat with an operator

At least here I see online that there's the possibility to do so (even with debt cards). However, I guess that with a credit card it is going to be less annoying for you, or any way easier for you, since it's their money on the table and not yours

I'm talking about italy btw

Edit I also think that prepaid cards here are what have less protection

Maybe in the past, but nowadays you can call your bank for a charge back or you have an option in the banking apps

I do have to say though, that with customer protection laws we have it has never happened to hear about a friend getting a charge back from the bank, usually you go to the seller first (or the platform if you got scammed) and you get refunded there

In my tuscanian city the university is building a new building for the engineering department. While digging they randomly found an ancient etruscan well. In this case everything went smoothly and timely and it will be preserved, an underground parking near the center had ww2 remains and deeper than that, archeological ones that slowed down the whole thing

I'd say its ui is not that great and it is not intuitive when searching courses, but at least it... Works? I mean, using SharePoint might require me to reload the page more than once because I literally don't see the files sometimes

The university I attend uses SharePoint, classroom and moodle for various courses.

SharePoint is by far the worst piece of software I've ever used. Like, there's no mental model to be done, not intuitive, not working, files disappear from time to time, and I could go on for hours
