1) It should attempt to detect location and display that to the user.
2) You can save locations but, these are lost on refresh.
3) No way to specify Celsius.
4) It's not a very simple service. I should be able to bookmark this and click on the link to view the weather. Instead, I need to type a location every time. Right now, I just have a bookmark to "https://www.google.com/search?q=weather".
widget.js is a server side script that creates the widget and echo's it out. Many ways of doing this and the easiest is a bunch of document.write()'s for the html
Cap Tables aren't usually private. I don't recommend advertising it on your website but, certainly, any new investors will need/want to see it before committing.
In my opinion, a Soft Developer is one who mainly just writes code. Whereas, a Soft Engineer is somebody who looks after the project end-to-end (requirements gathering, coming up with a solution and then coding it)
If HN isn't your target demographic, the answers here are going to be really skewed. Social signup is very much preferred (we have a number of iOS & Android apps targeting consumers) and social login makes up around 82%.
Suggestion: Get rid of the Hacker News reference in your header.
I think that most people who don't know about HN will run away when they see "Hacker" in the title. You are limiting your audience. If you must, it might be best to use Reddit instead. Or maybe rotate between the names of different websites that are similar.

My startup provides email marketing services. This is something we have always wanted to add into our product. We have looked at other services such as Litmus but, have not yet decided on a direction.
Some questions for you:
1) Can I white label it?
2) Do you provide an API that allows me to send you the html and you push back the screenshots or a URL to a whitelabel page
3) Your pricing page doesn't mention this: I can signup to the Unlimited Plan and then offer this as a feature (paid or free) to my users
4) Rendering time?
5) Will you be returning actual screenshots OR are you using some CSS trickery to show me how it will render theoretically.
Doesn't seem to work on FB Fan Pages. I suspect that majority of your users will be small business owners looking for a social media dashboard. I have been looking for something like this to connect all my startups social accounts into a single dashboard and it seems that i can only link my personal FB profile.
Would be good to allow you to order by position on the front page as well as total number of votes on the stories. It will allow you to see that even though github is sitting at number one as the most on the front page, they might only be averaging 4th or 5th place whereas something like BBC averages top 2 on every one of their articles.
First, make sure you have a product with traction and uses cases of it being used. Make a nice slide deck.
Make a list of investors you want to target. Look them up on LinkedIn & Angelist. See if you have any shared connections and try to get some introductions. I have found that cold emailing never really leads to anything.
Next up, join a lot of meetup groups to do with your field, startups, entrepreneurship etc... and go to as many as you can. Meet other founders. Don't just talk about yourself. Find out what they do, ask them questions, take them out for a beer etc...find out who their investors are and try and get them to do intros.
It's all about networking. Get yourself out there, meet founders and get introductions to investors.
