I agree except for the full retail price part. How well can that work when margins are so thin? It's one thing if you bought goods in 1885 and moved them west yourself, but it's quite another these days when it's hard to find any place that isn't saturated with the same competition. All you get are the suckers who don't know the prices.

Copyright enforcement has made the Internet a lot less usable because of all the "muh movies" by the big, monied interests.

In their defense, they saw what happened to the music industry and freaked out. But still, Mickey Mouse and tons of other old things should be in the public domain by now but aren't thanks to lobbying and big money.

First off, I'm a man and I haven't fared a whole lot better over the years. You never go to HR for any reason. I once had an absentee manager whom the entire team complained about. Why the hell the company even protected that asshat is a mystery to me, but they backed him to the hilt while basically censuring all of us. That's not as bad as sexual harassment, but the state some of these companies are in and yet they still manage to operate!

And this is why so many working people are stressed to the max and basically just don't give a shit anymore.

The question I have is: Would SV be so pro-immigrant if they were forced to pay everyone a competitive wage? The H1B thing has been a scam for depressing wages for decades now. All of my H1B friends are exploited workers with no rights and no recourse. Ugly, ugly, ugly!

Google's political grandstanding is a turn off. I can no longer trust that they aren't censoring search results based on their political leanings. It's a deal breaker, sorry. They best tread carefully or other companies that cater to a more moderate crowd will win out.
