Continue to be unable to answer the basic question I ask you - and I get the "sure bud". Ok, sure bud.
boringg

I mean you are the one reacting. I am curious what you are trying to achieve except casting shame (implied morality) and shutting down conversation.

I assume (maybe incorrectly) that you are just reacting without thinking about the deeper level of what you are trying to express.

So you agree your comment provides no value to the conversation here except a kind of "check your privileges - shut down the conversation I am greater than thou perspective".

I am asking you what value are you trying to bring here to the thread with this comment? Does one have to have a qualifier statement "I have certain privileges ascribed to my life" and now make a comment? Should I be adding qualifying statements to this comment to make sure the morality police don't come finger wagging?

But does it matter that it is or isn't privileged? Thats the root question. What are you trying to highlight?

I have to assume you aren't trying to shame someone for moral opinion about talking about facts on the table - as that does 0 for any kind of public discourse.

Tough to tell these days. I got seriously asked by someone from Egypt if I though the pyramids were built by humans or aliens. I stared at them in disbelief.

How did you figure this one out and how did you resolve it? Asking for a friend!

Maybe some do but thats not the norm.

Are you for real?

Will the AI labs always make sure there is at least a years worth of differential? I guess the underlying business premise is that each new release has a step function change that prevents this kind of behaviour..
boringg

How do we remove that? Those are the exact kind of people most intelligent people find quite grating in an organization - though because they self-promote so much its difficult to unpack the truth until they have kind of weaseled their way into an entrenched position (normally they are reasonably good at politics).

I'll use the All-in podcast as a perfect example of the type of person described. They have some value in that they have palace intrigue + arguably asymetric access to information.

Startup vs incumbent

Agreed. Rupture is real and permanent, driven by one side.

I guess the real question at the end of the day -- how dependent are people on Claude to tolerate that kind of behavior? It certainly opens up for the competition to explicitly not do that.

Feels like a big fumble from a strategic business perspective. It feels worse than that though.

Equities rise and fall. Unless you fully cash out that stuff can materially drop and if you do materially cash out - it can inflate away.

Sorry to be a downer but there is no certainty on the future especially with the level of chaos being sown in the western world as a function of a few key people.

Were the websites actually held responsible though?

I mean was google search responsible for surfacing correct answers? I am not a defend of AI but this seems like a weird piece of legislation.

Their advantage was mechanical engineering. They have historically not done well with electrical systems. So this is a change - hopefully for the better.
