>I think these companies, like Apple, Amazon, and possibly Google, will see their stocks come back into favor ahead of everything else in tech. I am hedging on Google because I believe the massive advances in AI/ML that we are seeing right now may be a threat to their core search franchise
I kinda disagree with this! Google has the best AI talent in the market. And, lots of these AI advancement are coming from Google brain themselves (ICRL, ICML, etc). And, some of those languages models are already deployed in Google.
Further, I can see Google as an automotive company (Waymo) as opposed to search engine in the long term.
> We had the fair market value of anything transferred from the nonprofit to the LP determined by an outside firm.
Greg, would you please elaborate more on this part of your tweet? Also, can the OpenAI LP commercialize work/research produced by OpenAI non-profit? Can you use grants that were raised by the non-profit into recruiting for the LP?
Thanks for talking questions and engaging in conversations to make things clear for our community.
Most likely, they can’t. Advertising is the main business model technology companies were built on. If there was any other revenue stream, Facebook would’ve used it (of course, except from charging users for the service since the majority of the people won’t sing up for this).
I totally agree with you on the distaste or advertising and targeting. I never liked it and never will. The question for you is, if you’re using this website service and getting a value/benefit from it, why don’t you benifit them as well by simply removing your ad blocker.
People usually feel obligations for others who have helped them (Them providing you the service) and will thus try to give back.
I would recommend that rather than copying "arXiv-Vanity", your team should focus on improving and contributing to "Engrafo" since there are many errors in the HTML conversion. And, leave everything at "arXiv-Vanity" since there is no point of having 2 different places doing the same exact thing.
