Couldn't help but smile because "chato" in portuguese means "boring", and this seems very easy to set up and use.

Here's to more boring software! :)

I've installed it plenty, and its always been on "unsupported" hardware.

There's a big world out there.

(Disclaimer: I'm partial to "Mega Drive" myself.)

Wikipedia has this

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Mega_Drive_vs_Genesis.gif

blue = Mega Drive, red = Genesis

(didn't find the sales numbers, for those wondering. Sorry!)

I can't imagine playing those in anything other than a big panel (maybe with an NTSC filter), on the couch, dim lights.

Maybe I'm just getting old.

Its so good Meta is sponsoring a bill that removes necessary accountability on their side by pushing responsibility to a third party, while at the same time getting accurate headcounts for the ad platform /s

Allow me to recommend the AMAZING "Tasting History" YT channel, by Max Miller. He does history research into many different periods so he can cook the most authentic dishes, and has done a bunch of episodes on Greek and Roman culture.

> It runs on android phones!

Whats even more interesting IMHO is that according to TFA the most popular platform in terms of usage is Android. This is probably related to the large amount of dedicated Android gaming devices like the Ayn Thor and similar.

> they implemented a feature or fixed a bug for the community!

yeah but, did they really?

All IMHO of course, but:

If they understand what they did, it follows that they understand someone has to approve/disapprove that contribution for it to land in the repo, and therefore, size their contributions accordingly to make reviewers lives easier.

If they do not understand what they did, they should not be attempting to land high-value high-complexity contributions yet; they should start with something smaller precisely so they can learn.

Edit: I realize I probably sound too grumpy about it, its just that they could be doing it in their own project, in their own repo, where they're free to go for anything they are comfortable with.

> Do yourself a favor, crush the pill and put it in food.

PROTIP never ever do this. The cat might just decide food is not worth having and develop liver and stomach issues. Bastards won't tell you anything is wrong, then they'll just crawl into a hole, as usual.

Source: I had the same not-good, very very bad idea and almost killed mine once. Had to go for a feeding tube and all. If you must give you cat medicine in pill form, just use one of those silicone pill "siringes" with flexible tips (and give it some Churu or similar to train it to tolerate medicine better). Washable, no fuss, quick and easy.

Disclaimer: I do not agree this take was made in bad faith. I think that raising a kid comes with its own set of expectations around caring and curating experiences of said kid. Therefore, I do think that offloading that responsibility to the state (and by extension, businesses that offer age-gating tech to that state...) is not the right way to do it. And even in the absence of that, my experience taught me it is entirely possible to grow up with unsupervised internet access and turn out an OK adult. The internet is not only "depraved porn". It is also a lifeline for that weird kid who has been bullied and effectively barred from social experiences.

Of course, YMMV.

That said, if such a nanny state is inevitable: zero-knowledge-proof-based age verification would not only be possible, it would further protect these kids from a bad state actor. In that spirit, I agree with your last point. The fact that any other alternatives are even being considered makes it on principle a non-starter to me, because it betrays the actual goals of the political actors involved.

Congrats on shipping, will check later.

(My laptop fan went into overdrive. Please consider removing the effects or having a lighter version).

Edit: the anthropomorphization is so weird ("brain", "soul" etc). If the feedback logs live in "basalganglia", why not call it "feedbacklogs"? Why "hippocampus" instead of "memory"? IMHO it just makes it harder to find things.

One of these years, Windows might become production-ready again.

For $DEITY sake, this surprised me. Such inadequate performance on a 9800x3d + RX9070XT. How? Don't people test anything anymore?

Damn.

Unless I'm mistaken, they probably don't mean xrandr, which is what you probably use. They meant legacy x multi head setup (same session but independent screens). I know its there, but i never used it.

edit: AND i've been using GNU/Linux and derivatives for the last 20 years.

I like it.

I don't mean to be harsh, but if there's a codepath that is exercised on your hardware, but not on mine, I don't think it would be fair for me to deem it as "bloat". There are a TON of supported devices and use cases that are not my own, but are essential to someone else.

Rio is kinda funny as a litmus test - federal government creates laws to try and curb some of the corruption, and Rio produces better and better corrupts - so far Rio is winning.

BTW wasn't it a few months ago the current governor wanted to leave to be able to run as a candidate, so he asked a supreme justice to step in in as governor, since there wasn't anyone else that technically could?
