I am a terrible hobby c programmer that doesn't understand pointers but surely a symmetric approach doesn't have the overhead or the bug. that is to say that if the language was designed to work in single bit pairs of a string character in conjunction of a string length character assuming a fail safe design of one dummy string character then if a bug happens in the code then there's no overflow because the length can never be shorter than the character.

have to shoot the elevator buttons in this, in the original you could move into them.

the earth is old though, i'd think that the sun will have expanded and made the planet uninhabitable before all the crust is recycled. i've heard there's only 500million years left, assuming we don't destroy it before then.

southpaws are more common where at least one parent has schizophrenia. i believe it to be caused by an epigenetic change, where damage to the brain in a parent leads to the parent rewiring their brain to use the opposite hemisphere. In short, it's hardly an illness, more of an antibody to one.

James "Whitey" Bulger was given LSD in exchange for a reduced prison sentence after some low level crime. He went on to work as a professional hitman, taking out politicians and trafficking drugs. LSD does work for things such as alcoholism, but MDMA is usually used in treatment programmes as it doesn't have such life changing mental effects.

also, if you are blind from birth or go blind within a year of birth you won't develop schizophrenia. those folk are completely absent in the population.

Do you happen to know the reason the term for english is sasanach in irish language. i.e. is there a connection between sasanach and sassanian.

iirc it was bmw who was selling their electric seats as a service. It maybe the only way to avoid this exploitation is a socialist model, nationalize industries and/or pay the workers for their time inside of for their product.

That worked in a case i know of locally, there was a forestry company that had workers speeding for years. So a karen i know got on to a politician and managed to get them to pay by the hour instead of by the load. I still see the trucks on the road, they are much safer now.

speedrunning super mario world with neural nets is weirdly effective though. i guess you need a genetic algorithm to refine different approaches rather than a neural net.

great comment. actually reminds me of how intel screwed up with developing the first 64 bit processor, then amd came along with theirs and managed to force intel into compatibility. All these big companies think they're too big to fail until they do. at the end of the day the consumers hold the purchasing power. ignore them at your peril.

The battle/fight with the Craidmi. troid is singular whereas war is plural.

neat. not something i´d hanker for. i saw a 16 core z80 laptop years ago and i often think about it because it can multitask. https://hackaday.com/2019/12/10/laptop-like-its-1979-with-a-...

software is a bad example since all the coding is done in english. the translation tools are inexpensive nowadays. bilingual persons have lower rates of dementia so it's not even sure that standardising on one language would be a net benefit. also it's universally accepted that english is one of the more difficult languages to learn. If there was a revival of the movement for a single language then english wouldn't be picked by non native english speakers.

many of the older analog low impedance multimeters drew so much current that they affected the circuits they were trying to test, requiring a high impedance digital multimeter instead. it's a similar problem, and i'm sure the physicist was aware of it, but didn't like to admit it.
