CERN stopped hiring non member or associate member states citizens for some time now. Except in very rare circumstances, This applies to US citizens as much as Russians too.
You might disagree on that but we all know that it was political pressure.
I have no knowledge in the field. But it would be nice if the article compared the raw prices of usual bare metal offering vs cloud because I am not sure it would support the claim that the egress would be the highest cost.
Of course it could be but a quantitative perspective for an average game would have been much better.
I think it is a step in the right direction for bunny to be a competitive for the people on hobby/self hosting. But I think that having a free tier for CDN is what makes cloudflare attractive (Among other things).
I think if nothing happens from the government, then this would be a very good example of the benefit of keeping your mouse shut especially if you are lying to get some hype like Anthropic did for months.
I still don't know why all these concern about nuclear weapons with LLMs. It is not that if an entity (A country) wants to develop a nuclear weapons that the resources they need for such a program and huge infrastructure and scientific enterprise would need an LLM to teach them anything. Knowing how to develop one is not a closed secret but getting in secret is impossible without the whole world knowing.
So I wouldn't be able to develop a nuclear weapons with the resources of drug cartal (as an example) using Claude in secret.
Ctrl + shift + R would solve your second problem at all times.
And I don't think your first point is quantified correctly and I am sure there is no data to back it up. But I understand the appeal of trying to quantify your personal experience.
Where did you get that the number of federally funded graduate students is 3.1 million?
Note that many will have industry, international or self funded (for MS it is less common to have funding). The 9B figure for maintaining the F35 you just said is very close to the entire annual budget of the NSF. Which is the main funding source of most of non medical research.
Also we are not talking about military budget, just the F35 maintenance program here.
The problem is that it doesn't even respect this choice. My native language is not English and most of the videos in this languages will be auto transcript to English. Even the last time I changed both the language and country and YouTube still managed to auto transcript to English.
The solution is a simple toggle to turn it off, not pushing it to our throat.
Now I started to worry about their clients openness to work with valultwarden. They also said in the past they will not change the behavior to not accept third party servers. But who knows now.
It is mainly because of federal funding cuts that departments accept fewer students as written in the actual text. But I might add that the changes of immigration and the changes in foreign policy might played a rule. There are no mention of AI at all.
> become a technical advisor for their web3 project
That by itself should have been the first red flag. I also heard a lot of these stories recently. I think this might be one of the good use cases of GitHub Codespaces.
> Can we just go back to ads and normalize blocking people who ad-block?
Nope, two problems
1- Ads is privacy issue not only convenience issue. Targeted ads should not normalized.
2- Companies figures out that even paying doesn't means you don't get ads. You probably are bigger target with more disposable income than average in such case.
You might disagree on that but we all know that it was political pressure.
