[citation needed] We have no idea where the term originated from. Stop lying and posting this BS because your incessent need to belabor your otherwise incorrect point proves otherwise.

> So, I guess to be consistent, keep your “linguistic imperialism” to yourself...

Right back at ya pendejo.

Right and what happens when include the pollution for disposing of those lithium ion batteries when they eventually die?

Oh, we're just going to ignore this inconvenient truth.

But please, let's keep lying by omission.

Right, so long as we out source the pollution somewhere else where in the world it's OK.

Sure since we're both clearly lying by omission.

> Don’t know why you’re recommending soft genocide instead.

I didn't recommend that at all. It's the cold reality and if it's too much for you to stomach that's your problem.

Oh, we're just going to ignore this inconvenient truth because the pollution and toxic lakes are somewhere in china and Mongolia. https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20150402-the-worst-place-...

Indeed true, Africa's fertility rate, while slowly dropping, is still whopping 32 births per 1000 people. Increased development helps but food aid is what supports a large number of sub Saharan Africans who are bolstering those numbers. Famine and food prices are still a strong dictator of fertility in Africa.

Africa isn't at all at carrying capacity. There's more than enough arable farm land to support the current population and more.

See Kenya, once the bread basket of Africa and now no longer because their leadership kicked out white farmers, gave the land to local Kenyans, and unfortunately those locals even after all these years haven't figured out how to get the yields that the old owners did.

The problem comes down to the locals who are either unwilling or unable to farm effectively at yields that support the population. Then the food aid comes in which is where we're at now.

The unfortunate reality: When NGOs, the UN, and other do gooders stop providing aid to Africa, the population problem will (unfortunately) solve itself. This scenario may happen sooner rather than later if a world war breaks out or further shocks to the good supply occur.

Dark, dry, and away from insects is really all one can do.

My family has a handwritten journal from a family member that wrote it in the 1880s. It is still in good condition.

I also have 100-150 year old books on koine greek (modern versions are trash). They're in great condition.

I'd say print. Paper, hardbound copy books stored in a proper place so they last. Next up is stone.

> But you do, not participating has opportunity risk.

You're right it does, but I know what the risk is. I do not know what the risk is for said untested beta product.

Please valiantly be the better man by being society's guinea pig. I have a family and have reasons for living.

I would however recommend getting a life insurance policy so when the obvious happens you won't leave your loved ones high and dry.

Good question and not to sound like an ass but that's not our problem and more an SEO one.

Which in my opinion is a good thing.

Keep it simpler, these are people who don't understand mirages.

All they need to do is make a search engine that brings back google results a la the mid 2000s and a mechanism for users to punish those annoying formulaic crap blogs. Google search has become so functionally useless I have to use multiple services and bloody yandex to get a good idea of my results.

I bet you like to run untested alpha builds in production environments too.

Be my guest and risk killing yourself by beta testing dangerous self driving vehicles and medical procedures that haven't gone through their trials.

I risk nothing by not participating.

Just do us all a favor and try not to take out others For Science™. Enjoy doing someone else's QC for free.

At first I enjoyed flat earth as a mental exercise in going through "settled" science and creating experiments to prove or disprove them.

However, flat earthers have a flawed understanding of several concepts. Differences in lense focal point and mirages in particular are the biggest misunderstandings they carry which they will berate you until you give up.

Here's an even simpler experiment. There's a flight from Perth Australia to Santiago Chile. On a round earth the flight time works, it doesn't on a flat earth.

The old adage goes: when you wrestle with a pig, you get muddy.

The fact that the NHTSA allows these "beta" self driving vehicles is an affront to their mandate. Sorry but I don't beta test self driving cars, medicines, and other things that can cause bodily harm on a wonton.

Thalidomide was considered safe and effective for pregnant women until it wasn't. You want to be a guinea pig, be my guest and while you're at it, go ahead and install alpha builds for your BE infrastructure.

Edit: the fact that this was down voted speaks volumes to me about how people view safety. Sad!

Don't be a fool. You know what I mean. Medicines and self driving cars can cause irreperable damage on a larger scale than a shoe does.

You sound like you would be first in line to give a pregnant woman Thalidomide too and that was considered "safe and effective" as well until it wasn't.
