Same here. I work at Meta (outside Reality Labs) and don't believe the company will see any commercial success with AR/VR long term.

But I'm bullish about VR having amazing potential and I'm glad to see its evolution get accelerated by all these investments.

Can confirm. I'm really bullish about VR's potential but almost never use it.

Yeah I don't think anyone would disagree that with time, know-how, manual labor, and a 50% performance degradation, you might save money.

Jesus lord. And here I go at 1.25x and sometimes 1.5x and think that's fast as fuck.

And I think B is especially key for large global products. Most users of common apps like Facebook don't see the advertiser side, for instance, or don't know that some features are built for specific countries due to regulatory or compliance reasons.

I've done a lot of hiring. Happy to give thoughts on your resume if you want (for free).

> Meta expects you to have managed at least 40 ppl before considering them for a M2 role

Not true. At least not as of late. M2 promos can lean on different things, e.g. delivered impact, over established people scope. But the person trying to promote you need to be able to do that well. Source: Have done M2 promotions at Meta.
