Crossing the line into fraud is how you pitch it.

In one way it’s only fair to pay him what he was owed. The package was a way to incentivize him to get the stock price up and meet revenue goals. He hit every of the goals but one. The board failed the company in structuring a proper pay package and there was an element of luck where the stock just exploded in value.

This one will be studied for ages. Let’s see if this will actually keep Elon motivated to continue focusing on Tesla over the next 5 years.

Pretty underwhelming sales page, they should probably showcase the screen more?

Edit: Nevermind, the link in the HN post is not the actual landing page.

SitesFS | Sole Software Engineer | B2B SaaS | Private Company | Remote / Worldwide | $120k USd

About: I am a (semi) non-technical operator acquiring a B2B SaaS business that has been owner operated/developed for the last 20 years. The platform helps small businesses in a niche industry run their day to day operations.

Culture: If you miss the days when you could code by yourself in some corner of the house, go down rabbit holes learning about new things, obsessing over small details, chatting with like minded people and having fantastic flexibility... Well then you’re the right fit!

You: Thrive as a sole developer (& will look to build your team as we scale).. You are someone who has an owner mindset, is collaborative, has curiosity for technology, and loves building delightful software.

Stack: Have to be very comfortable maintaining legacy code. Currently JScript / ECMAScript / JavaScript, Classic ASP, ActiveX COM, SQL on DB side and little C#. We will not be refactoring the code, plan is to immediately begin working on new version and move over customers.

Bottomline, I am passionate about building software that people love to use. I’m looking for someone who shares the same mindset. I’m not in the business of running a feature factory in order to drive revenue. Our platform helps real small businesses operate on a daily basis. We’re not revolutionizing the world, but we still care immensely about what we develop and the people that use our products. If you think you would make a good fit, shoot an email (in profile) and we can set up some time to discuss.

To be useful you'll need to track transfer promotions as well. Might be useful to create a signup feature where users are notified of promotions for balances they have.

They generate a decent profit on supercharging and increased usage = increased profits.. On the maufacturing side market is saturated with Teslas. They keep dropping the price to increase demand but you can only play that game for so long.

There is a restaurant that makes Indian spiced chicken cheese steaks in Philly that’s gotten very popular. Try this recipe with your choice of meat, it’s not a tikka version but it’s delicious!

It’s hard to grasp how complex accounting can be for companies. EY is not auditing small businesses, these are large multinational companies and per audit guidelines they likely just audit random samples of accounts. It’s not as simple as let’s pull a listing of all bank accounts and make sure everything ties. The actual effectiveness of audits is a different conversation.

More than half of the layoffs will affect staff at its non-billable corporate functions, the company said, sending its shares up more than 4% before the bell.

The second paragraph in the article.

Most of these costs (saving for retirement, insurance, subscriptions, car) would be consistent across the US and is not unique to Seattle. $100k in a very expensive city is not much by any means, however what's more concerning is the costs you outlined are consistent and rising for even those living in LCOL or making even less than $100k.

I just pulled up plenty of 2bd rentals on zillow for under $2,500 with a short commute. Am I missing something here? Or does being a head chef mean you should be able to afford rent on top of the restaurant you serve?

Not really I know of a non technical founder who spent $300k on developing their website/app. I was a user of that platform, and while it wasn't fancy, could have been better, and someone eventually did do it better, it did what it was supposed to do. They had first mover advantage and funny enough it got bought out by that same company that did it better for $20-30m. Sure being a non technical founder is harder, but it can be done.

How wide scale can this even be? I haven't been able to access ChatGPT free version for days, and the paid version is not available. How many people are even using this?

Love this story. I did something similar with a website. Previous owner took it down, bought the domain from him and it organically grew to over 1m users per month with the same exact functionality.

I wouldn't discount your ability to bring this back to market. Would consult a lawyer to see what implications taking over the branding and APIs have. But clearly this has a big market.

Curious if you could replace a backyard patio with a sunken greenhouse. You can harvest year round, small backyards could still utilize the space as a patio if the greenhouse is covered in thick enough glass panels, and if functional it would look nice.
