You know it's just really painfully obvious that these are all the ways to perform mental gymnastics so that you don't sound like you're just asking for a raise, or more money, or free money for not working.
And while I'm in favor of such things, unfortunately, if I can see right through the ploy, most likely others can too.
Like, it's not like we don't all know precisely how ratios work. And if you change one number, without changing the other number, that sort of thing has understandable effects.
Working a part time job instead of a full time job, but getting the same amount of money is very obviously an improvement. Part time jobs are usually 30 hours a week or less, as opposed to 40 hours a week. So, you know, if you made $100 for 40 hours of your time, and now you only need to do 30 hours for $100...
What if... instead, you chose to put in 40 hours at the new rate anyway?
Hey, I know! What if I get paid $100 for 20 hours instead, AND THEN work 40 hours! That's $200!
