> If Guevara did everything the same but instead of Marxism, he was fighting to exterminate the blacks out of a genuine belief that it was a noble cause which would help people, would you still describe him in the same positive way?
Two years ago i created a gmail account without providing mobile number and was using it on youtube for commenting on political videos. In the past few months i noticed my comments were getting upvoted frequently and then last week gmail is forcing me to provide mobile number for verification to login to my account. If google wants to have mobile number for creating accounts that fine but why force after 2 years. That feels cheating. The whole point is i don't want retaliation from political parties for commenting on the internet and don't want to be tied to my real identity with my mobile number. Sadly there is no competitor for youtube.
There is a documentary about the people killed who had found to be guilty and they did not find a single evidence where some one is executed wrongly.
Now i will state my reasons why Che is an inspiration. First of all I am not an American or from the Latin country and i do not support Communism. I like Che because of his analytical thinking and hacker like personal traits. I read his book "Guerrilla Warfare"[1] and based on the title i expected the first page must preach about moral values or self righteous, but was very much surprised to find the explanation on the necessary conditions that must exist to start a revolution and goes on to describe how many core members are required, their preferred age and should not be married. He asks to treat the captured enemy nicely and does not make any false pretense of being noble about it. He is direct in pointing out that it is in their self interest. His arguments were logical and rational.
> Political ideology is OK but not religious ideology?
Right. Religious ideology is without a doubt is exploitation. Political ideology that does not involve religion is probably coming out of good intentions.
> Being a 2nd in command is OK but not a national leader?
The point is he is not after power and did not try to become 2nd in command either. He left the minister position he had given after the war and left to another country to start a revolution where he was killed. So looking all these facts he actions must be coming from the noble intentions.
Its not just about the react being opensource. Its the philosophy that drives the ecosystem. Facebook can come up with a react component for VR on the browser which work's really well only with facebook account.
> I suspect that what you really mean is Guevara fought for what you think is just. But that's a weaker statement.
You might have mistaken me as a supporter of communism. I don't support communism. Osama Bin Laden exploited the religion for his personal gain. His goal is to become the caliph which is roughly equivalent to being the single military leader for entier Islam as said in the quoran. He did not bother about the people or had any ideology of his own.
Che did not exploit religion. He is an atheist, was supporter of women rights, he understood the value of education and setup schools for his young troops even during the guerrilla warfare. He knew he will not be the leader of cuba and Fidel Castro would be the leader of the country and yet he fought for what he thought would make the society just.
Che thought deeply, was highly intelligent and had the balls to sacrifice his life for what he thought would make the society better.
Gangsters are one who have balls to do violent things but do not care about society.
> Che Guevarra’s wife, Stalin’s wife or Pablo Escobar’s wife
Comparing Che Guevarra and Pablo is totally unfair. Che was a true inspiration, born in a rich family, became a doctor and yet sacrificed his life and fought for what he thought would make the society just. On the other hand Pablo is just a gangster who did not care outside of his family.
I have invested heavily learning react and react native and i don't have(or want) facebook account. I will remind this incident in the future before investing time in any thing related to facebook.
John Carmack was following this routine and some days he would come to office in the evening when no one was there and will leave before any one arrives.
Don't underestimate smoking, especially it must be avoided at all costs as a programmer. The minute you stumble on a problem which happens all day in the life of a programmer, the brain cues to smoke which actually causes digestive problem leading to constipation and sleep deprivation. Occasional smoking is a joke. Take a look at other profession and you can see smokers have an amazing career such as movies. I have not found a single programmer who has rose to the top of the field while still being a smoker.
Most people who are under mid 30's don't realize how cruel age bias is. With remote work there is a reasonable guarantee that it works against age bias and a huge blessing to developers who have crossed mid 30's. I lost about 1/3 of my hair due to genetics before i hit 30 and i look older than my age. I consider myself above average developer(passed FAANG interview after 10 years experience in the industry), yet I fear constantly of age bias.
Current Prime Minister Modi was in the ad of "Jio" company which was aired in national tv channels after he got elected. That company funds the BJP party to which Modi belong. By giving the money to "Jio", the money is being routed back to the party in the form of donations. By the way in India the party does not have legal obligation to show where the money comes from or how much. The BJP party is just a product of religious group called the RSS which wants the society to be based on strict vedic hindu religion. Vedas advocate the society to be 4 level hierarchy with priest's (Brahmins) at the top of the hierarchy and believe that education must be restricted only to the priest's for the good of the society. Not surprisingly majority of RSS members at the top level are Brahmins. India was a vedic society prior to the british colonization. This is the reason majority of the indians are 1st generation college graduates even though they were rich and owned a lot of land.
When it comes to privacy telegram is not great. The privacy is handled by splitting the cryptographic key in to multiple segments and storing it in servers located at different countries making it harder for any single government to force to provide without involving legal process that has to go-through multiple countries. This sounds not that bad in theory but in practice any developer knows you need the entire key on a single machine to process the data which means every server that processes the data has the entire key and any government can intervene and spy on the message.
The way i see it is Jobs ripped of Woz, without Woz Job's is nothing. On the other hand without Job's Woz would still been a successful engineer at a tech organization.
