I don't feel like this article does a good job making its case. Java won't live or die with Oracle. Along with the language spec and non-Oracle implementations being available, there are other (arguably more influential) companies still putting huge amounts of money behind Java tech; e.g., Google and IBM.
You're assuming most people search first; many users don't even understand the difference between entering a search term versus a URL in a browser address bar. Yet, non-techy people know ".com".
> The JavaScript model of "call some callback when the currently-executing function returns" doesn't work, because C is not event-based.
This is misleading. Whether or not a C program is event-based is not defined by the language; the language itself has the necessary features. On the flip side, Javascript is not necessarily confined to event-based operation - this is dependent on the engine it's running in.
from the look of the website, GnuWin is terribly out of date and packages like OpenSSL (I don't seen OpenSSH listed) will have lots of known security vulnerabilities..
Why do you have 100GB? Are you sure you're not paying $1.99/mo for that?
The default for new accounts is 15GB. I've had my gmail account since 2004 and I "only" have 17GB (15GB + 2GB extra I got at some point for some kind of security bonus; perhaps enabling 2FA).
I know this post/comment is aging but I feel I have to add my disagreement. Depending on skill and perhaps more than a little luck, navigating your way up to a senior position in the "old school" corporate world can actually be relatively conflict-free. Certainly, exploitative bosses are as widespread as you suggest, but that doesn't mean that every boss is exploitative.
Yep, there's mention of it on an old blog post [1], but you can verify for yourself on the Enhancements page when editing any video - there's a "Revert to original" button.
If you ignore the GP's tone, it's actually a useful search link. Along with accumulating insight and conclusions, to referencing previous articles and discussions helps to avoid specific redundancies.
Not sure if OP is author, but this seems like a decent start at a useful compilation. It's obviously highly focused on data structures and algorithms, so the title is a bit misleading.
