So close and then the stealing part slipped back in.

We have a separate term already for the right to copy something - copyright.

We have a term for copying something without that right- copyright infringement.

Not theft. Copyright infringement.

Surely you can steal a car without using it?

First, most of the comments are about getting rich, which is a different skill than making money.

To make money, sell something valuable to others.

To get rich, first you have to define "rich" - most people's definition is attainable purely by the thing above, over a long enough period of time.

For large enough definitions of "rich", or if you want to get rich "quick", you have one of two ways: get a lot of money from a small number of people, or a little money from a large number of people.

Each requires different talents, a tremendous amount of luck, and ultimately a willingness to lie, cheat, and steal to hold on to the ladder as you climb.

It's certainly something we as a society should dissuade. The more people we have in mode A - sell something valuable, get modestly wealthy over a long period of time - the better off we are.

He's the closest we've ever come to the US military leading a major attack on its own citizens. He was only stopped by others because of the optics.

He really, really wanted to bomb things.

Temujin was a nothingburger of a warlord until he was nearly 40.

What did he learn in those 20 years that made him Genghis Khan?

First, those are the ages of those men at the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

The Constitution was not ratified until nearly 15 years later.

Second, none of the people you listed signed the Declaration.

The average age of the Declaration signers was 41; only 3 were younger than 30.

I offer nothing definitive, but one of the greatest benefits of StackOverflow has been to quantifiably classify most of the common problems in computer science, programming, analytics (and to a lesser extent the other StackExchange communities ...)

If you go there, search for a tag, sort by popularity, etc. - most of those techniques and approaches and patterns are, if not timeless, then mostly timeless and relevant.

Father of 3 elementary school students (and 1 cute toddler) weighing in with actual experience so far:

* Kids have 3 Zoom meetings a day - ~90 minutes in the morning, 30 minutes right before lunch, 30 minutes right after lunch.

* My kids may be outliers, but they are great at self-managing their time, pay attention well, seem engaged, seem to enjoy the format well enough.

* Classmates seem equally engaged and pliant during meeting times.

* Main complaints: technology is still weak overall, curriculum is a little bit too day by day ..

But nothing as drastic as the original article.

Let's try for a straightforward definition:

Culture is preference between two otherwise value-neutral positions.

For example: encouraging collaboration vs. encouraging independent work.

Or supporting self-organizing teams vs. all work having a WBS/charge code.

Culture is not choosing between being respectful and not; or choosing between being openminded and not; or choosing between being honest or not.
