IMO there's a deception that we are doing better, but its more like the whole of society is doing better. I have a nice car not because Im doing better than my parents, but because technology has improved.
Real social mobility is very very very very hard if you dont have any special skills.
It's fucked up because the people in power probably werent bullied. Teachers most likely werent bullied either. So nobody ever puts an end to the misery.
I've heard people saying they were bullied in school because somebody once said their football team sucked. And then went on to say they felt grateful because it made them a stronger person.
Its just a tornado of misinformation, and kids getting bullied to the point of suicide never get the help they need.
I learned this the hard way. Thought I was special and passionate and hard working. Then I had a mental breakdown and could barely get anything done. All of a sudden money became the top priority I started seeing the world for what it really is.
I dont believe that people have anxiety disorders for no reason at all...
e.g. an autistic teenager who got beaten up for being socially clueless or abrasive. Anxiety might be the thing that saved them from being seriously harmed.
