Somehow archive.is has mostly stopped working for me on many mainstream sites (Bloomberg, NYT, WSJ, etc...).

I love weighted blankets but have to be careful that they're not "too" heavy. I used to have sleep paralysis relatively often as a kid and a too heavy weighted blanket often re-triggers this, which is obviously terrifying.

I don't understand why people are such huge fans of iMessage / iOS. I have both an iPhone and an Android and the iPhone texting experience is worse in almost every way, including getting way more spam.

Why doesn't a keyword filter exist? Any time someone tries to send me a recruiting message, just let me flag it for auto-deletion please. Jfc.

There's two kinds of news I read, both of which I've found give a "good enough" / "middle ground" picture of things.

1) Financial news, specifically the Financial Times - middle, Bloomberg - slightly left leaning, and the Economist, slightly right leaning. I've found that they have incentives to keep their news as close to just presenting the pure information as possible, as their readers are often making investment decisions based on the quality of the information, resulting in wanting zero "spin". This isn't the case for the NYT or WSJ, which have an incentive misalignment.

2) Anything that shows up on Hacker News. I trust that if something is important enough to get posted here (and make the front page), then I should probably be aware of it. The comments are for the most part measured, analytical, and thought-provoking.

2026 - 40 = 1986 was right before more mainstream internet adoption. Yep checks out, Germany today.

Great product but quite onerous pricing / rates.

As a fellow bootstrapper the lack of flexibility when it came to dealing with customer service was super frustrating. I referred a few fellow founder friends to them early on but now have made it a priority to switch to an alternative.

Congrats on the 65% margins though!

Not in my experience at all. Very solid product but incredibly frustrating trying to negotiate / get a bit of wiggle room in regards to pricing.

My plan auto-renewed for 2026 but it's become a priority to move everything off of Dato to another CMS for 2027.

What were your issues with f5bot? I tried to sign up and Supabase auth went to spam btw.

The map for this is cool but a table view would also be nice.

"The wider area is also known as a 'spacecraft cemetery', because hundreds of decommissioned satellites, space stations, and other spacecraft have been made to fall there upon re-entering the atmosphere, to lessen the risk of hitting inhabited locations or maritime traffic."

This was super cool - nice little Google easter egg.

If they have an API, why scrape if you can collect their data in the way they want it to be collected?

In the 1930s, the US starting fortifying milk with vitamin D in an effort to eradicate rickets, so it's definitely doable. Learned this after moving to Germany and realizing none of the milk here has any vitamin D added.

Where would you go instead? Have a few favorite spots for Hanoi/Singapore?

Wish there was keyword muting. I actually have quite a few connections that are interesting to follow - it's just their content never shows up in my feed.

The comments on Berlin: https://news.ysimulator.run/item/2336 could have been straight from /r/Berlin.
