It's really a shame the developer didn't add this feature. One might be scared off by the large number of geometry files involved with this, but actually this is a great example of when hard coding can supersede dynamic/robust code. It would be better to simply store an object of all countries borders and the their relative direction to one another. I could see this being a slight issue with countries that share a border with another that is many directions of their border (Lesotho and South Africa, for example), but it would still be much less deceptive than saying "the USA is 2000km south of Canada."

I'm a [graduate] student and developer working from home and doing classes from home. I am without a doubt less engaged in class, and I am completely loving it. I put my headphones on and do chores around my apartment and treat class like a podcast. When discussion or "lab" sections roll around, I pop over to my computer and engage with my friends/classmates for some collaborative social interaction. Especially as a person who is working with code during group sections 98% of the time, it is SO much easier to share what we are doing. The days of 3-4 students crowded around somebody's beat up 2016 Macbook are over, at least for me. Screen share, remote control, and a chat to drop useful links/resources is heaven on earth in comparison. Not to mention, thanks to not needing to make breakfast, eat it, pick out a nice outfit, make my bed, wash the dishes, commute, etc. before class, I am getting more sleep than I can ever remember, because I'm doing all of those mindless tasks during class.

Extremely inappropriate behavior is a pretty strong accusation. Seems like a harmless nerdy prank that occurred 40 years ago. It's not like he changed the monitor to say "Poop Fare."

You are correct on both counts "Yellow Pages" was a registered trademark used in many countries for business phone numbers. Phone books also had literal yellow pages with business phone numbers and advertisements in them. It was also a colloquial term, at least where I am from (Midwest, USA) used to refer to the entire phone book.

It's funny how these weird pieces of knowledge stick even with almost zero exposure. Every time I got a phone book or yellow pages dropped on my doorstep in some flimsy transparent bag, I'd throw it directly into the recycle.

I'm surprised to hear that it is impolite to not have a housekeeper if you are an expat. To which places are you referring?
