You mentioned potentially lower cancer risk, is there any other reason you fast 6pm - noon next day?
I've done intermittent fasting before, which is basically the same as what you said you do every day, but not sure if you call it that. Like, do you feel better during the day? I did it just to help lose weight, but would be interested in doing it again if there are other possible benefits.
This looks really cool, I just wish there were a sample chapter... I'd want to look at some sample code to see what kind of stuff I'd be getting into before I made such a time commitment.
I keep hearing how .NET and C# are supposed to be pretty great these days. C# often gets credit for popularizing async/await, although I don't actually know if that's true.
Based on that, and the point you made, I'd definitely go the .NET/C# route if I ever ended up in the unfortunate position of having to develop software for Windows. Barring of course some reason that it had to be written in Go or something else.
I think you've got it. If free, github. Otherwise, DigitalOcean is a solid choice and it's only $5. You can do soooo many other things with you DO box too, if necessary.
For a large application, I wonder if you could configure Closure to output multiple files.. Maybe libraries and such in one file and client code in another? I would imagine you could at least split the code there.
Typing this on a C201, 4 gig version. Was just working in Linux earlier, I have crouton with the default xfce4 setup.
Keyboard is good, but it doesn't have a delete key or a meta key (this might be true on all chromebooks). The touchpad is above average IMO, but it doesn't seem to work great in Linux (haven't tried tweaking it yet).
Know that running linux via crouton can be a pain in the ass if you're used to having a full-blown linux install. If you want to be in Linux > 50% of the time I'm not sure I would use crouton, you could maybe explore the dual-boot option which I haven't tried.
Overall it's great for my purposes - most of the time I'm just in Chrome or sshed to my DigitalOcean box. if I need to do something else with a real OS I can switch over to crouton. Super cheap, it's super light, and the battery life is great.
