I'm old enough to remember when "The Smiths" album was released and hit the underground club scene in the city where I grew up.

"How Soon Is Now" was a smash hit with the ecstacy crowd and was the track that compelled me to go right out and buy the record. I can't count how many times I listened to that album for the lyrics, but moreso for the music. To that point, Andy Rourke's bass lines were prominent in the mix of every song, and a core component to The Smith's "sound". As much as Johnny Marr's rhythm and lead guitar in my opinion.

And as important as Peter Hook's bass playing or Ian Curtis' off key vocals were to Joy Division's sound.

RIP young brother

I've only been laid off one time in my life. I was working in Network Operations for an oil and gas company as a sysadmin / disaster recovery specialist. Anyway, there was some industry crisis and management announced layoffs were coming. On the day the axe fell my departmental director was calling people into his office. My turn came and I went in and when I saw the expression on his face I knew something was amiss. He was like "OK here is your severance doco." I was of course shocked because I was the hotshot in my department. So I asked, "Why? Everyone knows I am THE ass kicker on my team." And he said "Oh. Um, well we thought you `wanted` to be laid off." I was like, "Huh? Wait, no, what?" All he could say was "Sorry man". Good times !

Under the right circumstances, hallucinogens can permanently change you in a positive way. I think there is clinical evidence of this with MDMA or mushrooms and PTSD, but I'm not sure.

Not sure where you live but here is a current link with states where you might be able to acquire some legally: https://bit.ly/3AlzBoa I would recommend, as others have, the eat-some-shrooms-while-camping scenario. If and when you do find a place to purchase them, just ask the staff about the product. What's the recommended dosage for a first-timer, what can you expect, how long might it last, etc. They may not be able to give you exact advice but ask. Gobbling down a handful could lead to unpredictable results. Back to camping. Make sure you have enough water or wine or whatever and depending on the climate that you can stay warm if you need to. Maybe take some music you love to listen to. Indian ragas would be perfect if you are familiar with them. Anyway, find a place to get the shrooms, find the place you want to camp, and go prepared. Also if the trip gets heavy don't freak out. Try to stay calm and lay out under the stars and enjoy the sky and the air and the smell of the forest or plants around you :) Don't go trudging off into the darkness or desert. And if you think you see people out in the shrubbery spying on you, don't worry. It might be a coyote or wild cat or a skunk :D Good Luck !

Hyper hypocritical is one way to put it I reckon. I'm more inclined to characterize it as an extreme, out-of-control right-wing sh1tsh0w at this point in the state's modern history. Born and raised Texan with very deep historical roots there ...

Seriously doubt any firmware was involved as these aircraft would be manually operated, but I could be wrong. Mechanical malfunction or pilot error would more likely be the cause. Sorry for the loss of life in any case.

Yikes! I hope that was a corner, nee coroner, case, but it would not surprise me. My mother was a student nurse in the 40's. In the U.S. for context. She told me of corpses floating in a big tub, or vat, at uni, and that they had to take them out and dissect them for class. She didn't mention any peculiar schenanigans as you describe and I am glad she did not.

Same here. I have a wrapper script that runs restic commands. Whether I run it in a console or per crontab stdout/stderr is logged to a file and is emailed to me (in the crontab case). Nothing fancy yet, but it works and I am satisfied. Still pretty new to restic though. In another life I had a disaster recovery role and was using DLT for backup / restore of all the things, so ...
