Pretty much. There’s no big secret. Just a bunch of uncomfortable hard work to not ship junk and get everyone on the same page. It helps that title for product managers is “Vice President.”
Historically speaking perceived government overreach is followed by backlash of some sort. In life, we’re all playing the long game. I question the wisdom of some of the health orders in the long run.
This post seems controversial to the community based on voting. I’m wondering how it does not contribute to the discussion. It seems like an obvious statement? Am I wrong in thinking that no behavioral technique is going to be ubiquitously beneficial?
I worked at Apple. I don’t remember but I’m pretty sure perf just sucked, and I’m guessing there weren’t enough people to deal with it. Like, you are giving way too much credit to strategic thinking. It wasn’t like that. Nobody had a crystal ball.

It’s darkly funny seeing TSA agents pulling out water bottles, which may be filled with highly volatile liquid explosives, and chucking them five or six feet on a parabolic trajectory to a trash can surrounded by people.
It’s basically a pull request. There are going to be mistakes and changes. You can pull it and run it yourself if you’d like, but don’t say it’s shipped until it lands on master.
Has a snap back happened anywhere else in the world? While the unknown is scary, in this case it seems like we can look to our neighbors at home and abroad for comfort.
They can. Public officials spreading damaging falsehoods may violate the fourth, fifth, and sixth amendments. I believe that is the issue being discussed.
I believe the issue today is that the police are causing violence against the people with little power in our political system. To those people the distinction you are making is without a difference.
Nah people who get hurt don’t benefit. One side is organized like a military with command stations and ranks like captain and lieutenant, while the other is just people marching because they feel like it.
