Plenty of cultures attach identities to their societies - Sunni/Shi’a, Hutu/Tutsi, etc. Other cultures don’t focus as much on their “work identity” as you described, but they fill their identities with others.
I’ve ridden some Bird scooters in Santa Monica. They’re amazingly fun. But yes, scooters are left at night, especially on the beach bike path when they finally run out of battery. I can’t imagine Bird not sinking a lot of money into gathering those scooters and charging them every night.
Which gave the biggest performance boost? I’d wager #3. 20 seconds sounds pretty absurd unless you’re being really inefficient on your server or are moving around lots of data.
The fact you’re browsing HN and have read all those books probably means you’re not the average user (read more intelligent) of RH. Just read the RH subreddit and looks at all the novice questions the users there ask.
Hold up. They asked “Vim or Emacs?”, not “What’s your favorite editor?” That’s why the answer distribution looks like that. I think we all know there are more normal text editor/IDE users than vi/emacs users.
Of all the cities in the 25 different countries I traveled to, Santa Monica is definitely up there. Great location in LA, amazing food, vibrant neighborhoods, beautiful (and mostly friendly) people. Biggest downside to me is that there isn’t enough tech opportunities there. Else I’d move there in a heartbeat.
Perhaps, but bitcoin futures are advertised like crazy on the the futures exchange, but volume is completely minuscule compared to other commodities (and crypto exchanges for that matter).
