with teams split across US and Asia, the time overlap time they get i.e. US morning and Asia evening is very important to keep things going. This becomes very challenging especially in evenings where for developers sitting in Asia either you lose 1 hour of that time or sit late and mostly it is the latter what happens. So even without a country having DST, this is severely disruptive to a very large community of people and their quality of life across the world.
there has been news as recently as yesterday in Indian media that they found couple of people who had earlier recovered from Covid around 2 months ago, got reinfected. infact as per one news report one of them even died the second time around. so probably it is too early and we don't have enough data to predict anything accurately.
right so H1B is temporary worker visa, then why is someone there in the country 'temporarily' supposed to pay social security tax ? he is there temporary, will go away in 6 years, is not eligible for any social security, spouse cannot work, pay income tax and also pay social security tax ?
i would say a few lucky ones have the luxury of working on projects, where they can say lets ignore the IE users.
Most of us can't !!
And i completely agree with your last point. The reason we've been exploring web-components was because we had developed a component library based on Angular 1, and had a really painful time making it upgradable to Angular 2, and realized in the process that it was a mistake to write component library closely coupled to any framework. While i am really excited about web-components, but their current state disappoints me.
It's kind of weird, pretty much same companies are the standards committee, browser makers and framework writers... probably thats why we have multiple ways to write web-component like things using propriety technologies, but not much progress still in writing web-components natively based on the specs.
And at best, you could get something working (as long as you accept lesser performance) on IE11, anything lower does not really work or requires even more polyfills.
