Access Restricted for Australian Visitors As of March 16, 2026, Civitai is no longer accessible to users in Australia.

This is due to Australia's Age-Restricted Material Codes, registered under the Online Safety Act and enforced by the eSafety Commissioner. These codes require platforms that host user-generated content — including AI-generated imagery — to implement age verification measures such as facial age estimation, digital identity wallets, or photo identification checks before allowing access to age-restricted material. Simple self-declaration of age is no longer considered sufficient. Non-compliance carries civil penalties of up to AUD $49.5 million per breach.

I've received several of these types of messages including Voice.ai one mentioned in comments, and the following today:

Hey, I found your GitHub profile and thought you might find this useful.

I've been building Omniget, a desktop downloader that works with YouTube, Telegram, Udemy, Hotmart and 1000+ other sites. It's open source and built with Rust and Tauri.

The part I'm most proud of: you don't even need to open the app. Just press a hotkey and it grabs whatever video you're watching.

I've been working on this for a while now, even got an artist to design a mascot. I'm shaping the app based on feedback from people who actually use it, so if you have any thoughts I'd love to hear them.

Here's the repo: https://github.com/tonhowtf/omniget

Thanks for your time!

No, it’s that he will spend hours doom scrolling whatever they feed to him.. I’ve tried to lead him down a path of watching more educational stuff on YouTube but he will just end up doom scrolling shorts.. I’m trying to figure out ways to enable him access but not have him waste hours with shorts.. I know there must be short form content that’s good but I’ve not seen any evidence watching over his shoulder.. I block shorts on YouTube for myself even.. at this point the best I can think of is allowing access in short windows of time with longer chunks of blocked access.. if anyone has ideas I’d love to hear them.

All the ban does is stop kids from having accounts, if the service allows anonymous usage then they can still find somewhere to doom scroll. My teen son has been blocked from Snapchat, and was this evening doom scrolling on Tik Tok until I blocked it on our home network.

Grok, wrong.. but at least the two most logical..

Yes, there is a seahorse emoji! It's (U+1F40E U+1F30A). You can use it to represent seahorses or marine life in general.

I’m going to make some assumptions… I expect the account is for history, could you store that in a cookie initially, or local storage, and then invite people to create an account to carry history across different machines after they have watched some content maybe?
