Grok has been integrated into Tesla vehicles, and I've had several voice interactions with it recently. Initially, I thought it was just a gimmick, but the voice interactions are great and quite responsive. I've found myself using it multiple times to get updates on the news or quick questions about topics I'm interested in.

I wish there was a "power user" mode in Windows that you could activate and you'd get the ability to have classic themes (my MS themselves), classic Control Panel, no constant nudging, no weather/Xbox/Solitaire apps, etc...

It's a console basically. It comes ready to play without much maintenance needed from the user.

That's pretty much the basis for the simulation theory. See also "My Big TOE" (Theory of Everything) from Tom Campbell.

When I got arrested and sent to prison last year for retweeting a government tweet

Could you expand on that? What the complete story?

I'm guessing clear sky as in no clouds, meaning stuff should like AP/network management must remain on premise.

Question 1: would you be able to use this in a condo without annoying other co-owners? The specs page says the noise level is at 60db. Is this at HIIT level of effort?

Question 2: assuming one buys this and cancel their subscription down the line (subscription fatigue), is the software on the unit useless without it or is there still some basic funcitonnality?

Aira's FreePower technology seems to be what Apple was trying to achieve with Airpower. Haven't tried it yet (because it's expensive) but from the review I read, it's legit.

iPhones are still selling very well. The Apple Watch has been a massive success. People subscribe to various services. Apple identified that people owning a Watch for fitness reasons may also be interested in a fitness subscription integrated with their Watch. In a pandemic, the demand for such service may be higher. End of story.

I don't see what the problem is, honestly.

To each their own. I found the keynote to be engaging and it was different from the usual same kind of presentation that we've had with Jobs for decades.

Mozilla was doing some work with speech recognition. Don't know if that project is still active.

But yeah, these things needs lots of data to work well. That would be a massive project.

To be fair, Google has been working on speech recognition for longer and likely possess more data than Amazon.

Looks interesting, but there's not Android app unfortunately.

A RSS/ATOM reader with a social aspect (comments) would be cool.

Anti-capitalism? Anti-americanism? Please.

How many people in Germany use American-made software and services? How many use Windows, macOS or Android? Amazon? Netflix? Uber? Snapchat? Instagram?

I see many Europeans talking about "anti-americanism" yet a lot of them consume their products and culture en masse.
