We use https://github.com/meltwater/secretary . The key differences with Secretary is that plaintext secrets are never stored to disk or otherwise made visible outside the container.
is there any small library ala "notjquery.js" that is a drop in replacement for jquery but that calls the browser native stuff directly ? serious question ?
something to keep in kind is that sometimes, the redis server can't accept connections anymore because of limits etc...but the server is still serving old connections. so in that case, i think you don't want to just failover... the tricky part is to know if the server is really down
so we should turn our eyes the other way. really?! it's like saying "everybody does slavery, let's not care"... amazing...if what everybody does is good, great!!! but when it's bad, it should be brought to light in order to stop it.

don't try to find a "getaway reason" to dismiss an uncomfortable discussion, hackers are not "robots", the more you know about our geopolitical world, the better hacker you are
that being said, good that those bad practices are being shown to the world, it will push Apple and co to do something about it, which in the end will better for everyone
what i meant with "work and attention" is "greater work and attention in bad working conditions". Apple products should be ,well as S.Jobs wants them, "perfect" despite the working conditions, like polishing that gorgeous ipad back cover in a non-ventilated room. While motorola's back cover doesn't require that polishing .
something to notice too is that the work and attention required to assemble Apple's products are greater than other companies thus Apple expose workers to more health damages
what I haven't seen in the previous comments is that people naively don't learn from past experiences or other failures. Now let me explain :
- CURRENTLY, we can safely say Google core product is search and at least CURRENTLY people still needs "google search".
- will it be the same in the FUTURE ? well, you don't have to know the answer, but I'm sure some crazy numbers crunching happen every day at Google and those would signal some trends about "google search" in favor or not.
- Now let's learn from "some failures"...Microsoft didn't want to reinvent itself, they thought their cash cows (windows & office) will always give them a foot ahead, so never wants to let them go and try something totally new without "windows" in them...well u know their history.
- Apple once was "Apple Computer", changed to "Apple Inc", entered new industries, created new ones, planning to enter new ones, never cared about "ideals, fair treatment, transparent", never care about what their users think they want, they controlled all their products like never seen before, they basically do what they want and their customers just take it or leave it...basically in short, 13 billions of profits in a quarter!!!
Now with all above, assume you're smart, can learn quickly, , you're Larry Page and you don't want to become something of the past, what will you do ?
"Our system is designed around checks and balances"...who make the check and balances ? humans...which exactly means your current system can never be fair...that's why all current legal systems are doom, they can never achieve their mission of providing fair justice...for any software code, given the same input, it always only has 1 interpretation and 1 output, but for the legal system, the same case with the same law will give different outcomes depending on time/people...software engineering practices should just be used in the legal system for it to have a chance of achieving its mission :)
