same, I'm a paying customer and liked it. I don't have 'production' level demands but was doing lots of prototyping and testing of ideas. Very easy to use and reliable enough to count on.
They're using the words "Monotype Fonts" as a type shop, a brand, a company...I forget which but I set type decades ago and remember the name. They're not referring to 'monotype fonts' as a type of font, like serif or sans serif.
The partners you work with can make or break the best idea; don't let your enthusiasm cloud a colder view of the people you'll be making important commitments with. I've read that it's like a marriage, and I thought that was an exaggeration but it isn't...don't be paranoid, just be careful.
One thing that's helped me is teaching local "community ed" courses on something I'm confident in. I've taught really basic courses, and not only became more confident over time but also felt great teaching people who are really engaged and grateful.
