An "open material license" costs $2-4k. Basically the same price as Micronics printer. It's unfortunate we won't have a hobby level SLS printer in the near future.

It's been a possibility in my options contracts. However, the company must agree to it, cash your exercise check, and send the necessary paperwork to the IRS. If they choose not to cooperate, you're out of luck.

I think he means 83b early exercise: https://www.esofund.com/blog/early-exercise-options-83b-elec...

Extremely beneficial when paired with QSBS and liquidity.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane! So many classics from my childhood.

There's a receiver that connects to the OBD2 port. Example: https://abstractocean.com/products/s3xy-buttons

That's a fair point - if you are going to drive long distances, then a Tesla is the best option in terms of network reliability and price. But for most, an adapter with the occasional road trip isn't a deal breaker. Tesla owners have had to use an adapter for charging at non-superchargers since inception.

Buy the car for what it is today, not what it might be tomorrow. Many Tesla owners have been burned hoping for a feature, a retrofit, or even missing out on one taken away.

luckily, the slowest shipping option from jlcpcb are both affordable and reasonable. It will just take a few weeks to come.

If you qualify for this, or know someone that would - kicad is a great tool to learn, and probably the defacto standard for designing pcb's now that EAGLE has been discontinued.

But, I want to give a shoutout to easyeda.com. You can export straight to jlcpcb and it has parts integration with their preferred supplier lcsc.com so that you can do turnkey assembled boards from jlcpcb. It gets really interesting once you start designing with smaller surface mount components that might be too hard to solder at home.

It said I reached the daily limit on the first video I entered and didn’t even give me a summary :(

This is so true. My iteration time for printed parts has gone down from 4 hours to 1 hour with the faster speeds. At first, I couldn’t iterate fast enough to keep up. I can pump out a few revisions in a day or play with several concepts in little time. It’s a great time to be get into 3d printing.

Jlc’s preferred (?) circuit making program is EastEDA.com and it has pretty tight integration to parts on lcsc.com. You can of course use any circuit program like kicad. Jlc will assemble boards inexpensively for you if you select the right components (which easyeda will show you if a component can be picked from jlc). I transitioned away from through hole parts to surface mount parts with these tools. pretty awesome that they offer this service for a home hobbyist. They now offer double sided assembly, too.

Or, you can order the components from lcsc and they’ll give you a shipping discount. It’s pretty affordable overall, although prices have increased in the past year.

Close! Booby trap is the one you’re thinking of. Galaxy’s child is where he meets the real engineer from booby trap and Geordi is sad/surprised that she’s nothing like the hologram.

Sounds too good to be true. I’m skeptical that cities won’t just add more rules and reviews that end up extending the process 2x or more (plus more review fees!)

San Jose was able to coordinate with multiple departments. Hopefully they can coordinate more of them.

Oh nice, that’s great to hear. Is it this way at all stops? I’ve been away and haven’t ridden Bart for 7 years.

In America, good luck. We can’t even get people to enter/exit a train orderly. It’s not an entirely fair comparison though. For example - trains in Japan stop at designated places so the doors line up with the paint markings. There aren’t any on Caltrain/Bart/nyc - so no one knows where to stand. And the conductors don’t have a consistent target.

Or take a busy underground subway. Japan knows to stand on one side and make way for walkers on the other. That isn’t happening in most of America.

But, I just went to Disney world, and that’s about as orderly/idyllic as I think we can get. When all the people there have a similar goal, and Disney has thought up all the processes to remove friction - like trash cans every X feet make it a beautiful place. Their crowd control is also top notch.
