Run your own Gitlab instance, it isn't very hard to do. The point is to use Git in a decentralized manner, not circle around one closed platform or another. The main Gitlab instance being under such heavy load is not too great either, more needless centralization...
Huh, might end up going for a higher end chip, but I could definitely use that bump in performance! Already got an SSD, optimized kernel and a few other tweaks to get the most out of this chip, but it only goes so far.
Huh, a $100 quadcore ain't half bad, perhaps I should buy one. Looks like it'd be faster than this first gen Core i5 I'm using. Could probably keep the upgrade sub-$250 for RAM/CPU/Motherboard...
Wow, their website literally murdered my browser, anyone have a JS;DR? I don't like my laptop sounding like its about to take off, considering it is usually silent...
Parking minimums service a minority of the population of Seattle, while adding 15% to 20% onto the average rental price.
Another angle is the road network in Belltown is well beyond capacity, and is likely to only have safety and pedestrian/biker friendliness improvements done moving forward (if not a road diet or car ban), so how do you intend to service these empty spaces so they can be usable?
There isn't more land to build roads on, and tunneling for roadways is extremely expensive and prone to delays (eg. SR 99 tunnel), esp. compared to our rail tunnels which have been repeatedly completed ahead of schedule and under budget.
The point is development in Belltown has been highly restricted for decades, preventing dense, multi-purpose buildings from being built in that neighborhood.
Even the newer buildings being built right on Denny and Queen Anne Ave N in Belltown are entirely the creation of zoning, as they are height capped and forced to subsidize parking (which rents for $0.XX per sqft a month) over usable space that rents for dollars a square foot. Most of the people living and working in that area are using transit, with 70% not driving: https://www.seattle.gov/transportation/docs/2014TrafficRepor...
The terribly restrictive zoning hasn't helped, if we got rid of the height caps and parking minimums that kneecap growth, we would see many more apartments and condos being built. Why should a 1 bedroom apartment be over a grand in Ballard or Fremont?
LOL, the private schools here are anti-vaxxer havens, when you hear about kids dying of whooping cough or similar in this state, it nearly always is at a private school. Also, its a non-union gig that pays a few grand less than SPS or the other public school districts. What your paying for with private schools in the region is to be in an upper crust social circle.
The Archdiocese of the Seattle Catholic Church needs to crack down on that, as they run the majority of the private schools in the city.
Which is so silly, as closing their code & datasheets just makes it harder to work with their chips and makes users of their products less secure. And that is why you see all these Single Board Computers not using Broadcom chips, they are nearly impossible to get docs for, let alone decent drivers.
Patently false, I've been to a few camera infested shitholes like the one on 15th and Market in Ballard where they tried to pull this crap on me (and gave up), but outside of that I have yet to run into it. IMO its a huge red flag, they're the only ones that tried that out of 80 places I've toured in the past 2 months.
If the property manager tries this, its a sure sign that they are an ass. Also, the market seems to be cooling, one nicely remodled place I toured dropped to $1500 from $1700 for 950sqft 2 bed/1 bath in Queen Anne, then rented a week later. Seen a couple others do that, figure it should become more common as we get into summer.
Cell phones definitely have caused a notable drop in audio quality. Massive carriers like Verizon for example felt they could compress calls quite heavily, destroying audio quality in the process.
VoLTE could improve the situation, if we could get the HD audio to actually make it off the cell carrier's network. Currently, no US Cell Carrier does so tho.
Unsurprising, the UK is a mass surveillance, dystopian state. Every packet sent over the internet is captured, and the UK has the highest security camera density in the world. Assad would kill to be able to so conveniently collect even half the data that the GCHQ collects on a daily basis.
Nevermind the nanny state about porn, both viewing and creation, or drugs. Makes Washington State or Colorado look like lawless states in comparison, and yet they still have a ton of nanny state rules that help no one.
Are public schools in Brooklyn that bad? I know they're very segregated[1], but the concept of a private school being of better quality than a public school is horrendous. In Seattle that isn't the case, but that is mainly due to the $10k pay gulf between private and public school teachers, nevermind the benefits differences and religious/of moral character requirements of most private schools. The major reason to go is if you want to be in the clique, outside of that its a slightly worse education for a few grand to a few tens of grand a year.
Portland meanwhile has notably worse public schools, often making it appear that you should pay for private schooling. That being said, quality is still lacking in private schools there, I saw many students left behind that would have learned how to read months earlier in Seattle.
Why should a toolkit be illegal, and why should you not carry your tools with you? Picking a lock is usually the slowest way in, if you are trying to increase security, paying a premium for a better lock while retaining windows and unreinforced walls is a poor decision.
Wow, you are unfamiliar with retail. Sure, you can probably steal small things, but repeatedly stealing larger objects (book size and above) is generally a pain in the ass. Hence why Costco & Sams Club make better targets than average stores, its much easier to throw something in the cart of high value and slip it by.
Booster bags will be a major issue for Amazon's stores if they ever launch this.
