In my opinion they all are looking at AI as a software business where in reality it is more like a low margin hardware/commodity business.

Mi 8 has a very good camera and battery life I am guessing it could be used as live streaming phone in china so still useful despite being an older device

Why are you using all of US then compare the internet of most US cities and to most cities in Europe and Asia. US has a problem of false advertisement it is portrayed as the free market but reality it is filled with monopolies/duopolies/captured markets in most industries and americans are propagandized to believe stupidly that it is a good thing.

Yup I use llm to write scripts for me to process data I don't ask the llm to process the data themselves. Even when I wrote something for my day trading I used llm write scripts that do all the processing and predict price movement from that the more data is pre processed the more all the llm come up with similar trades.

maybe they distilled claude for the flash version and not for the other hence better tool use and programming benchmarks

Bugs are bugs security vulnerablities or not it's good for open source project when someone actually goes through the code even if it is with an llm. As most people assume someone has gone through the code when it might not be true.

I think you are giving the word "smart" a meaning or implication that it no longer has or is used with. It is common to say Google Search or Siri got smarter/better or dumber/worse, so I don't see saying LLMs getting smarter is any different.

Prs are too pad cv's or novice users wanting something and vibe coding it themselves. Jellyfin player repos see a lot these kinds of prs so unlikely to be new users

where its sits with the AI bubble I think Oracle is the 1 of the major companies apart from the OpenAI that would go belly up once the AI bubble crashes.

There should be a time limit to protectionism and a scale where tariffs on imports come down overtime. Otherwise you will get what you currently have in the US ie huge cars that cost a lot of money to make and run. US supposedly the free economy is the country where almost every industry is an entrenched virtual monopoly or a duopoly and with it's political finance system they are eating into every industry.

Running local models might be good but until the virtual hardware monopolies of tsmc and others is broken they will out of reach for most people.

Ram and Ssd is just the start capitalism dictates profits will suck all production to AI. CPu have 3-5 year production timeline ie cpu prices will start going up a lot more as previous production contracts expire you might even get shortages new consumer cpus won't be affordable or spread as fast as you think.

The way things are going, we can pretty much forget about AV2 hardware encoders in PCs anytime soon. All the newest, best chip capacity is being completely hogged by Apple and AI companies.

Unless chipmakers port the AV2 design to older, cheaper nodes, it’s just not happening for average users. We’ll probably see some Chinese TV chip makers throw in an AV2 decoder just to check a box, but as an actual encoder? I wouldn't count on it anytime soon.

Youtube has also started AI translating other languages written in roman letters to english in chat for live streamers etc. Will be interesting to see what happens when they start doing this with google translate etc. English usually picks up words from other languages but if everything gets translated it will be interesting to see what happens. I am wondering if it will translate the slang that the current generation uses that goes over my head a lot of the time.

Its not like the non frontier are not improving. If someone can use deepseek to get 90% of the work done for $100 then pay another $100 to anthropic or openai to complete it I think they will rather do that than pay anthropic or openai for $1000.
