Only by toxic escalators.

Wait, what? Aren't batteries and chargers smart nowadays? I thought they automatically care about battery health no matter what the user does (apart from deep discharging of course)!

Probably not censorship but rather reasonable moderation and civility.

Weird, my experience is the opposite. All journalists I met in person and spoke to have been critical towards anything in any way reasonable. Including their bosses and institutions. It's a merit of journalism for introspection to be normal and wanted.

Left and right are useless categories, trying to compare them is moot.

If it is nauseating to you, just ignore them. Pick a different hobby that's not complaining about other people's struggles it upsets you.

You made a good point for asking for money instead of providing free work by the way.

When other people rely on your hobby it can be hard to just walk away. There is pride, dedication and the feeling of providing value in FOSS. But if others make tremendous amounts of money based on your unpaid work, and show entitlement to its benefits and free support or development, it is hard not not feel a tiny bit entitled for compensation.

"Reading what they wrote made me feel I was having a stroke" is kind of an unnecessary exaggeration. But yeah, my comment was as well. Fistbump!

Or how you end up with a search engine for passion projects, open-source projects, community hosted sites and more.

The site is hosted on a .de domain, so there is a very chance that the author is German. It would have been nice if you had considered that before writing such angry and negative words about the author's work.

That's inventing details that don't exist in the data though, correct?

Sounded really interesting until I found that it is just another zero-sum exploitation scheme...

Was she aware of the bulbs being a potential issue? Maybe she sweated or showed other signs.

Only in some versions though.

Nothing "edgy" about kids finding words that describe genitals funny. It is like that everywhere on the planet and it always has been.

Nitpick, but you are off by about one order of magnitude for the number of movies available on Netflix. It's closer to 20,000.

Even if the technical process is just "copying data" there is a whole world of legal and ethical issues around it.

Torrenting non-free products from unofficial sources is illegal.

How are the producers reimbursed in your example?

As is their right and somehow even their duty if it is not in alignment with the project's philosophy or goals.

You can create a fork and implement the feature or pay someone to implement it for you. That's the wonderful benefit of free software.
