>An interesting part is the "we'll send you an email to confirm you're you", followed by a "enter validation code here" screen that immediately gets forwarded to the re-enrollment message. Also, no confirmation emails are being sent.

That is _exactly_ what happens to me.

My reaction to PCIe gen 8 is essentially "Huh? No, retro data buses are like ISA, PCI, and AGP, right? PCIe Gen 3 and SATA are still pretty new...".

I wonder what modulation order / RF bandwidth they'll be using on the PHY for Gen8. I think Gen7 used 32GHz, which is ridiculously high.

His "The Shepherd" is amazing. Linking a PDF of it (it's 29 pages, and 100% worth reading) and not the wikipedia page for spoiler reasons: https://www.cessna150152.com/ubbthreads/attachments/13553-Fr...

"Wi-Fi calling" (LTE over IP over wifi) often allows you to get SMS messages over wifi only, on an ordinary cell plan: https://support.apple.com/en-us/108066 (Android supports it too)

There are even multiple services that will mail a Potatoe to the recepient, possibly anonymously: https://potatoparcel.com https://www.mailaspud.com https://www.anonymouspotato.com https://mysterypotato.com (the only one I have used is "anonymouspotato").

>(More surprisingly, there is evidence that lead is an essential micronutrient in trace quantities but its biological function is not currently known.)

Do you have some links about this? I found some papers re arsenic but I can't find anything re lead.

> Obviously HFT has not invented superluminal communication techniques.

They haven't, but they've put in tremendous resources into going above the speed of light in optical fibre, including the use of point-to-point microwave links and, when it's impossible to place towers for microwave links (for example, across the Atlantic Ocean), the use of HF/shortwave (as in 3-30MHz stuff) radio.

> There's no open source network, graphics, peripheral and GPIO hardware that can be cheaply plugged into a synthesized design that can be sold at the price you want.

Why not PCIe? Aren't there already a bunch of design/validation/verification tools for it? A RISC-V CPU with just a bunch of PCIe lanes (and a couple of channels of fast DDR4) coming off of it (and maybe an IOMMU) would be a lot easier to integrate with existing hardware, rather than trying to recreate open-source equivalents of modern GPUs and network hardware.

At the very least, something with lots of wide fast DDR4 and lots of PCIe lanes.

> Call your cell phone provider and put a “do not port under any circumstances” hold on your phone number.

How do I do this for my cell provider (T-Mobile USA)?
