The headline is misleading. It should rather be Lobbying firm (that happens to do work for Apple) lobbies on the bill.

No, sources identified Apple specifically, though other companies are involved.

Is that true though? I can't really see that it is confirmed that Apple was proven to request this particular lobbying.

We will have to wait until this is confirmed. This is not new, but if public opinion forces them, they could be held accountable and change course.
