Interesting. Nobody was prepared to spend billions on renewable energy infrastructure though - which might actually save the planet. But, hey, what do I know.

I get the sentiment, but actually... billions are being spent on renewables, especially by China.
Here in Australia retail electricity will become unmetered during the peak daylight hours starting next year because we've built out so much solar that wholesale prices are starting to dip into negative territory.

Agreed. However, haven't seen similar investment numbers coming from industry or VC players. Maybe I missed it...
