If I need a personal laptop or server, I get refurbished. I've done that for years.
It's sort of a big Prisoner's Dilemma situation: What's best for me is for everyone else to be a spendthrift (for the sake of the economy) while I myself behave frugally and prudently.
I think this is bs, anyone care to share their thoughts?
I haven't bought a new phone or computer for more than 5 years now. I don't really feel like I'm missing out on anything.
My company will buy me a new phone and laptop every year if I want. My laptop is from 2022 and my phone from 2021.
They work fine. Any performance boost isn't worth setting up a new device.
