Ask HN: How do I find startups hiring developers for low pay and equity?

I guess company directory is still the best place to look for this type of job. If you email the new companies who just got the pre-seed, I'm sure you can get low salary/high equity job if the connection is there.
Just email them even they're not hiring at the moment.

what is your objective ? Are you trying to learn how startups work and hence wanting to work at one ? Or are you trying to work at a startup and hopefully build wealth with equity (very unlikely).
Then, The question is : how much equity vs salary ? Lot of startups have roles like "founding engineer" etc but the equity won't be more than 1%-3% (or even less). Granted, some of these are funded and offer almost market salary.
Or are you looking for significant equity (say > 5-10% or more) ? In that case, you will almost be like a co-founder and that changes the game and requirements.

idm 1-3%, I mostly wanna learn.
If you're aiming for remote opportunities, you could try platforms like Upwork or Fiverr since low pay doesn't bother you!!
But if you're genuinely looking for startups only, I would say try X.
If I may ask, why would you go for lower pay to work with a startup?

"how can I barter my time away for calorie mates and lottery tickets"
I don’t mind if the pay is low as long as there is some equity involved, or even a mix of both. Are there any other job platforms or should I approach startup by myself ? I’m trying to find a role where I can use that experience while also learning more about the startup side.
If you are a startup, how would you respond to that?
I have 4+ years of experience working with React and Next.js, and also react native, node.js I’ve been doing contract work for quite a while, and I’m looking for something more involved before going back to regular corporate work.
Are there startups working in this kind of setup, or any specific places where people usually find these kinds of roles?
