I can confirm that it is :)

Though I never had one (they are rare in France), it became sort of a pop culture icon. For me it was through the work of Rebecca Sugar on Adventure Time. I always liked to play silly made up songs, so I made a silly instrument to go along with it!

If you want to listen to a true musician using it, I recommand Hijaq's work on YouTube[1]. He uses many other pocket instruments if that is an interest of yours!

I designed a pocket music instrument. I partnered with a company in China called Seeedstudio, they do the manufacturing, shipping, customer handling, etc. and I receive royalties on each sale. I varies from month to month, but above the 500$/month on 2025 :)

I love to be able to focus on the design and not the practicalities of selling a hardware product!

I found this recent study[1] very interesting as well. Their conclusion: 'In 2016 online advertising consumed 106 TWh of energy and the infrastructure 1059 TWh'. So around 10%.

My view is that adblocking is an environmental necessity. And paying business model should always be provided. As a footnote, they estimated that If Netflix switched to a video ad model, 42.02 TWh of added electricity would be consumed!
