It's not about the tech, it's about the pool of users that use Cursor, by acquiring Cursor you get a bunch of users + subscribed and already paying pool of people instead of just rebuilding something from scratch and convincing people to change their tools with a new one

I don't get all the hype around these kinds of things, it's not something that crazy that when it gets released you solve some kind of problem you had. Those are things that can easily be replicated and that many of us already built for ourselves months ago, before those were published and became mainstream
Disney is not a platform while YouTube is, they can afford more distribution and so experiment more and have faster gtm, while Disney has to struggle more for gtm while testing new ideas.
I get it but I still believe that the most efficient answer to productivity is discipline, all the tricks to trick (sorry for the word play) are just effort taken away from our work
