You would be surprised how many American companies still prefer to pay check. I used to consult for a payments startup which would only pay by check (and always at least 45 days late). It’s a way to abuse vendors.
Normally I would scoff at this, but having had to physically chase down customers before over bounced
checks, I could really
get behind something unreturnable like cryptocurrency.
It will be garbage, just another spam avenue. I’ve received over 3,500 “InMail”s and connection requests in my last year of unemployment.
Maybe 6 of them were worth accepting. The rest were just incompetent headhunters, mostly from one of four or five spammers in India (esolutionsinc is the most prolific).
I don’t see how anything LinkedIn can do will be anything but trash.
Not nearly as bad as cancelling a gym membership. 20 years ago I tried canceling my membership to 24 Hours Fitness when my company stopped reimbursing it.
They refused to do it over the phone so I reported my credit card as lost and their charges as fraudulent.
To quote Donald Trump Jr, this is a Nothing Burger.
