It'd be helpful if it read everything out loud so I could turn the volume on when I needed to look away from the screen and pick up where I left off when I returned to the screen.
These types of bombastic headlines certainly show that a (bizarrely-motivated?) segment of the New York tech scene has confusingly concluded that there's some value in claiming to be the "heart of the new digital economy"... even if there was, this article has mostly just left me convinced that the same subsegment of New York's tech scene also believes that they're the "heart" of everything, and they're willing to pick inapplicable statistics to prove it. They'd do more for the tech companies in their city by letting the work of those companies speak for itself.
