That's _exactly_ the problem. The Democrats depend on it to be profitable and stay in business. All these people on the Government payroll "helping" the poor. And now they're trying to add to it with "Pre-K" programs (for example) that have been proven ineffective, as a means to make even more money off of poverty.
We "switched back" to Windows 10 here. We always had to use some Windows machines, because to do cinema color grading we needed 10-bit/channel color and wide gamut monitors which Apple never supported. But Windows 10 is now so nice, and the hardware vendors have upped their quality that we even run Windows on our laptops, which we used to not do.
Of course I love football, and would love to see that tape.
But let's distill this down to the simplest facts:
Guy tapes a TV show off the TV. Wants to make money from this. But since he doesn't own the rights to the show, he can't. (You're allowed to tape to "time shift" and watch later, that's been well established.)
Now it just so happens he wants to make a LOT of money. According to the article he was offered $30,000. He said no. So he still gets to keep the tape for himself, and the owners of the content still get to control how its sold and marketed.
One problem that can cause price differences is obesity. 2/3rs of Americans are overweight or obese, and it is much more difficult, expensive, and potentially dangerous, to cremate a person who has a bodyfat percentage of 40% or more.
Funeral Homes should only have to post rates for people with body fat percentages of 25 and below. And they should be allowed to charge more for the fat. Otherwise families of people who were not obese would be subsidizing obese lifestyle choices.
Some of the dumbest ideas are the biggest. Strangers driving you in their cars? People turning their spare rooms into hotel rooms? I wouldn't have believed (or invested in) either of these ideas.
My favorite example is YouTube. If you had asked me if I wanted to invest in a video upload site where 95% of the material were pirated clips off of TV I would have said "you're crazy! You'll be sued out of existence."
This is fascinating because I'm interested in tracking the "Vanity Size" phenomenon.
Even though Obesity kills 300,000 Americans each year, and costs us Taxpayers billions of dollars, companies don't want to offend fat people and "vanity size". I'm a 5'10" 150# man and I have to wear "small" now in most brands!
By making fat people think they're not that fat, these companies are contributing to the obesity death rate.
