I did some math research in high school where the proof boiled down to dozens of cases of ugly polynomial inequalities. I can't find the PDF now, but the final paper was something like 70 pages, and several of those were full-page polynomial expressions expanded out. The actual prose was probably 5 pages or so.

It was categorically the least elegant proof of anything I've ever seen.

I'm incredibly grateful to for the opportunity to have done the research and gotten my feet wet early on, but boy do I cringe when I look back at that paper.

This is awesome. It's interesting to me how it messes with my incentives. At first I was just pulling the lever on the slot machine, then I went back and clicked on the pieces I really liked (to mark them as "viewed" for the Art Institute and show some love), but finally realized that I was systematically working to remove my favorites from the pool of images people would see.

In the end I just clicked on the "refresh" button a few more times.

Not justifying it by any means, but the first one could have been done on a risk assessment of how it would affect recruitment, retention, and morale. There are some worlds in which that could have been the rational choice, especially with knowledge that it would likely get rolled back in time.

Why try to circumvent W^X page protection? Some sort of self-modifying program without extra pointer indirections?

It's quite fun and I'll drop into it from time to time, but it's mostly a novel plaything for me. I do have a friend who has used it for full-time work for years though.

I 100% agree with you, which is why I try to be polite to the LLMs. Also, on a practical note, I've never seen an agent session go right-side-up after I crash out; the model seems to perform worse than if I just gently guide it.

I’ve long suspected as such. Is there a way to power limit what my macbook pulls from the outlet?

See superscript 6 on the article. Apparently NAC might has side effects of its own.

Same here, oddly enough, and every time besides this one was without anyone else mentioning it.

I'm shocked that the Wii only has 88mb of RAM. The programmers of that era really knew how to make a lot from a little!

yeah, how can I view the settings on my own personal account if my employer is managing the copilot settings?

I just use elevenreader for this. I copy in essays or whatever text I want to listen to and it works decently well. It's far from perfect, but certainly good enough.

Sometimes I'll take deep research output and listen to it too that way.

Talk about a misleading title XD

That would make sense a while ago, but definitely not in SF for locals who have lived here a while. For me as a pedestrian/bicyclist/motorcyclist I actually feel safer around them than any other car.

How are you saying that so confidently? Waymos respond to traffic cops directing traffic manually

Please say more!

This is perfect, exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!
