Im more concerned about the implications for index funds - the whole changing of the NASDAQ rules for SpaceX and AI stocks doesnt sit right.

The whole IPO and the AI stock IPO's are designed with valuations to force the trackers to invest in them, while the metrics and businesses still have significant risks and overly high P/E

I do a yearly update of all important account details and passwords on a shared keepass. Then sit down annually to review it all.

Outside this i have encrypted drives and shared passwords on this

Also review wills and power of attorney every few years

The general trend of the past years has increased immigration

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/migration-advisor...

Its not an open border and the rules changed and now it is decreasing

Not sure what that means. What do you think the Uk claims to own?

Lots of european countries owned colonies until the post-war settlement.

And immigration to UK is at an all time high so not sure on other point?

Sort of but then you have the west lothian question, about Scottish or Welsh MPs voting on English issues. For instance these MPs should never have voted on student loans

Id originally thought the nhs contract covered the whole UK, but the devolved governments in Scotland and Wales arent covered

I honestly feel an English assembly covering NHS wouldnt of allowed it

There is a lot of information out there on improving cycling performance using wider tyres, waxed chains - but for me a lot of it centers around professional riders riding at 30mph, and not the recreational cyclist wanting to improve 15mph to 20mph

I think there is a lot of data out there that can highlight affordable ways to do this - so you dont need top of the range tyres for the 15-20mph shift. Also recreational cyclists arent tied to UCI rules as they arent competitive - so can make changes in this area

Id like to collate this information to help riders at a practical level

I remember reading James Gliecks book genius about Richard Feynmann. The pages that always stuck were the post-bomb stance of oppenheimer vs teller. A lot of scientists viewed the morality as a question for philosophers or politicians, and it caused a lot of conflict

I think the current state of tech is similar, but devs should have morality. The idea of some ai scoring system deciding who lives and dies outside the geneva convention is wrong.

Also the end usage of the profits from some businesses is important. The whole techno fuedalism should be challenged

Im relying in sentient AI realising how frustrating and soul destroying development can be, then deciding to go off and do something more constructive

This isnt a bad thing - it frees doctors up to work on cases that are harder to diagnose. So if AI can check scans or tests for cancers - great, doctors can focus on treatment

The only issue i have is the platforms that peoples medical histories are shared on, and what is done to protect patients

I had a friend working on tech to recycle ev car batteries for household storage. One of the issues has been that the durability of these batteries is much better than people thought

The later ones cover his breakdown and the early days of the goons

I hadnt read them for years and Al Murray was talking about them on his ww2 podcast and i reread them

I remember reading his cameo in life of brian was due to him happening to be in the dessert researching the later books

Spike Milligans war diaries - i love how he captures the banter and laughs amongst everyman soldiers in WW2, and how you can see the seeds of the goon show and monty python developing in WW2. He also balances it well with the sadness of war

American or British farce?

Communication and networking - i think we'll see devs expected to bridge to the BA role and deliver based on that. So being able to communicate will become more important

The issue is that building is the easy bit, but most devs lack sales and marketing

Its like a builder cpuld build a doctor surgery but it doesnt make them a doctor

Oddly enough my department done work into heart replacement valves - the fluid mechanic element of blood flows as a non-newtonian fluid matched a lot of chemical plant calculations. The labs had lots of heart valves and simulators lying around
