It is factual that certain technologies are more used by certain demographics. If someone has a very small ad budget I don't understand why they should be forced to display ads to a demographic less likely to know the technology.
They can't and won't, anyone savvy enough can obfuscate it enough. This is just fear mongering for the masses, in other words, business as usual for the government
I would do this before I deleted my Facebook account when I ran ads not to intentionally exclude people but because I figured people over a certain age probably wouldn't know the technologies I was looking for and I figured I would probably end up paying for false positive ad clicks
No, can't really be the case that they can't rather they would just have to be too ignorant to do it elsewhere, if you can buy Bitcoin it's relatively trivial to buy any other crypto currency.
Sounds a good idea for an app lol, you fill out a little section for each skill, feed it job listings and it spits back out your sentences that match the buzzwords of the day that HR drones are looking for. It could even sort to present the sentences in order matching their appearance in the job ad and maybe intermix some non buzzword specific sentences to make it seem more real.
My Facebook account will remain deleted from now until forever. Although I may have to open a business ads account because my attempts to replace it with AdWords aren't going very well so far
Trust me that if they lose a lot of users in the US but gain users in some place like India or China they will be much worse off. It takes a lot of users from those places to equal one US user due to massive income differences so ads shown to them are much less valuable
It's doomed to fail. YouTube allows creators to profit and build businesses for themselves. Facebook shares none of it's revenue with creators and this is not a sustainable model in the long term.
I think Google realized this a long time ago and it's also part of why they failed with Google plus. They just weren't willing to go down into the gutter the way Facebook is and try to suck up people's time to a ridiculous extent. They have remained too concerned, if you will, with providing actual value and Facebook, from day one, has never had that as a concern as their only concern is getting you to use the app as much as humanly possible.
