I hear people complaining about Windows shoving ads at them, then you have something like this from Google that makes me ask why would anyone in their right mind want to use an OS like this? Seems built to hook you into Google's services.

I guess there are some people who want to be locked tightly in an ecosystem which will be a lifelong dependency for them. Meanwhile Google extracts thousands and thousands of dollars from the "user" over their lifetime.

Oh I get why they do this now...

last night I was pondering if there was a ghostty plugin that can make my terminal like the opening scroll from a Star Wars movie. Can we make that happen?

Awesome thanks for making this! Was just planning a trip to Asia with my wife and had to figure out which days I needed to take off. The app was very useful!

A dollop of toothpaste will usually solve the problem if you've ever forgotten the tape.

Yes we work from there, it's not bad. My company rents a small office for 6 and we get credits to use while traveling. (I worked from Seattle, Colombia & Chicago and they all feel pretty similar). Staff is nice they are pretty accommodating to your needs. Personally would not mind if more independent co-working spaces took over, but I'd also be sad to see staff there lose their jobs.

As someone who falls in the anti car camp, I'm really sorry you had those experiences. Seattle definitely has problems with insane people, it can be encountered on the streets or on public transit.

I think one important benefit to consider is that these projects can be seen as an attempt to correct historical wrongs done against native people in these areas.

Imagine if you were a Yurok person and your people lived for thousands of years, as a unique culture, and where substituting off of salmon was integral to that culture, only to have foreign invaders remove you from your lands, put you on reservations, and effectively destroy the lifeblood of your people by damming the rivers. Now imagine how after several generations this would damage your people as a group economically.

Given that history, it seems strange to question that the Yurok people might have financial "benefits" from this kind of project.

Without knowing a whole lot about it, admittedly, I've always speculated that the vast number of different soaps and cleaning products that we buy are completely unnecessary. I've started buying Bronners or other concentrated soaps in bulk and using them for various things. Is there a good place on the web to get home recipes on making this stuff into different products (like a shampoo/conditioner for example). As for hand soap, imo nothing beats raw castille soap as it gets my hands super clean compared to most store bought hand soaps.
