if you can order for free or below cost doing anything in the app, you are not paranoid, you are directly stupid, is like being able to modify the shopping cart total in the browser and the server accepting that as the correct price. Everything should be server side validated where you have the full control of it.

My case, I have to manage a portal for old tvs and those don’t accept the LE root certificate since they changed a couple of years ago. Unfortunately the vendor is unable to update the firmware with new certificates and we are sold

there was an ad, or a presentation in a conference keynote, from when microsoft built phones, showing a user leaving the house and continuing what was he doing in the car in a very futuristic way. I can't find it now, but was something crazy by then, the continuum idea was also a good one, but here we are, walled gardens and nothing smart about them.

maybe it doesn't do everything postman does, but I'm very happy using the rest client extension in vs code, the http files with the api calls are commited to the source code repository along with the code is easy to use, does what i need, and is easy to share with my colleagues.

I don't have a problem with the notch, I have a problem with the icons not showing in the status bar and there isn't a *** way to show them. It's so difficult to add a overflow button that shows the hidden icons?

another product to add to the apple walled garden, you will have to go through the vision store for everything, and they will capture their share from all the transactions happening inside it. It's incredible how apple can be so innovative and nobody can fight such prevalence. Will be a handset with the same features, but that you can connect to an open operating system someday? i would like to think that it will happen someday.

I have some over the ear bose headphones, and the moment I paired a third device (phone, tablet and computer) it starter to frustrate me, as it never got the device i want to use and have to use the app to disconnect from the other device. At least that is something that apple has much better than the competition.

Current intel ones supposedly have 10-12 hours of battery, and many times i find that they don't even get to 3 hours, leave open a browser tab that uses webgl or an app that uses the discrete graphic card, and you are doomed. At least on the 16" inch, I'm very disappointed with the battery life.

it's not, is that 16gb of ram is actually enough for 99% of people. I see many more downsides on the lack of upgradeability after buying it and on the cost of the ssd and ram factory upgrades than on the lack of availability of a 32gb ram version, which will probably follow up when they make the new revision of the soc for the 16 inch laptop and to replace the higher tier 13 inch intel models, that they are still selling with 32gb if you really need that amount of memory.

on a laptop, the cost of the additional ram is not marginal on power consumption, so it's not only a matter of $.

with the covid rules to ban shared items (napkin holder, big sauce bottles and restaurant menus), many restaurants have put an sticker with a QR code pointing to their menu on a website or even a pdf, and it works flawlessly both on android and iphone.

That you have your own website , app or accept request by phone doesn’t matter, the customers already have Uber or deliveroo app installed with their payment details saved and will use that because is more convenient than signup in another site.

What those apps charge to the restaurant is the money they expend on advertising to have those customers on first place. And the more money you expend on them, more money they will have to outbid you on marketing.

If you are searching on google for any place , you will see almost always advertising from those platforms before the owners site, just like booking does with the hotels, and like that the solution is to give some perks to people that reserve on your own site with reward cards or similar things, and also expend your own money on advertising instead of letting those platforms profit from you.
